Cabin was a work in progress. There was no privacywhen walking from bedroom to bathroom due to front door being inline with bathroom and having no window treatment on door. A/Cunit was not well insulated allowing for various bugs to enter cabin including mosquitos! When removing sheets/comfort at the end of stay there was a cricket like insect (alive) and several other bugs (not bedbugs) between sheet and matress pad. Serene lake was not serene, it was thick
So thick with moss and other vegetation it was hard to fish. The ground in front of cabin and around fire pit was very rutted and seemed to have been a driveway to a gate at one time. Grass in this area could have used a trim. With grass and lake situation the bugs were to abundant to enjoy the outside in the evening. A train track sit very close to cabin with a road crossing fairly close, a night time train arrival is startling when the train whistleblows. The cabin is adorably charming! Cabin was fairly clean. Fridge could have used a good cleaning vs. a wipe down, bathroom floor needed swept and a night light. Bed was very comfortable, sheets, comforters, blankets, towels were clean. A toaster would be nice but other kitchen appliances were adequate as was necessary cleaning supplies. Cabin was without power for 4+ hours due to storm, flashlight or 2 would be nice for the just in case. Jake was very friendly and attentive to our needs, even apologetic for the power outage. Check-in/out was simple!
