"Only one item to be aware of, the charge for electricity will be at least €150 per week. I assume that this was because the filtration on the swimming pool was running perhaps 18 hours a day. We visited in mid-September and only used the air conditioning for a couple of hours a day for less than half of our stay, so that wasn’t the issue. Not a complaint, the property is outstanding value for money, just something to factor in."

The house is in a peaceful, secluded location, overlooking countryside to the coast, and (unlike many listings) the pool really is as big as it looks in the photos, and well maintained. "The property is accessible by a long, windy and very stony road and we had rented an SUV-type car which was perfect having read the reviews in advance of booking. The house is well located for driving out to places (Noto, Modica, Syracuse, beaches, etc). Giorgio and his family were very welcoming (a meal and food awaited us on our arrival).
