Booked a non smoking room online and was given a smoking room. I avoid being around any second hand smoke for my kids at all costs. Hotel was trying to tell me that it was a 3rd party issue but as soon as I gave them my name they immediately began damage control and talking about how my room mistake was not their fault. I did not volunteer that I had originally booked a non smoking room. There was an event in town so there were no other hotels available otherwise I would have moved. If this is a known issue and I was the only one who booked 3rd party (assumed from their comments) then good customer service would dictate that you'd reach out rather than tell me I was screwed at 9pm.
