Spouse of husband who booked the house.
We didn't get to stay here, short notice on the unavailability of the home. The 2 Chalets were nice that we stayed at.

We didn’t get to stay here…
After 13 family members flew and drove in, just 2 hrs before check in, we were told there was no water at our rental. Instead, they had 2 Terry Peak Chalets for all of us. Val, our amazing customer service rep was kind, understanding, and really went to bat for us. Thank you Val! As for the 2 Chalets, neither hot tub or grill worked appropriately, one had no extra sheets or pans to cook with. One night we lost the ability to use the oven due to a gas outage. And neither chalet had AC, which we were not told before arrival. We also called the property manager twice and left message both time and never got a call back.

Not at all what we wanted
We got yo this place it was absolutely trashed it looked like nobody had been there in a very long time it was very disappointing we booked through vrbo and it was through ero rentals ero gave us a bit of a refund and they told us that vrbo would slso give us compensation

Great vacation house, but issues need to be addressed
This chalet was a great space to host our joint bachelor/bachelorette party weekend. It was just a short drive up from Deadwood where most of our activities were. We easily fit our party of 16 with room for air mattresses for those who didn’t want to share beds. I shared our improvement recommendations with the company and they were well received. They said they would bring the concerns and recommendations to their team to fix. Our recommendations included: -have bedding for all listed sleeping areas in a designated spot (closet upstairs and downstairs). -Have more toilet paper in all bathrooms for a party of 16 (for a 2-night stay). -Clarify instructions/fix discrepancies in the house binder about the air conditioner. -Make sure the handle cranks are on the windows, so to be able to open the windows at night to let cool air in. -They’re reviewing their protocols for maintenance/communication after issues with the window cranks & delay in response with a resolution. -They are working with their cleaning team to “ensure higher standards of cleanliness in the future” as we had an issue with dirty bathroom rugs and dead flies by the windows. -I also asked to have them disclose the need for a security deposit, at booking, as this property did require a security deposit (like a hotel would) at check-in. Outside of the easy-to-fix minor issues, I’d highly recommend the Avalanche Chalet to others vacationing in the Black Hills!

Horstman stay
1. No water at all, could not flush toilets or water for cooking or washing up. Called management, was told would contact maintenance. Was told to wait. Texted again no water,and this was relayed to maintenance wrong. He was told no hot water, and we were told to wait until the next morning. Called again next morning, maintenance man had to reprime the well. 14 people with no running water over 12 hours. Feel we should be reimbursed 1 night for inconvenience. 2 Lockbox code wouldnt work for keys, used code on garage door. 3. Downstairs not vacuumed, coffee pot still had grounds, popcorn machine dirty. 4. Only 14 towels 14 people for 4 days, not acceptable, especially with a hot tub. 5. Garbage was left and not taken away with cleaning crew. 6. Hot tub leaks underneath, sauna doesn't work, no instructions on how to operate either. 7. Not prepared for large groups for amenities pots, pans, no crock pot. 8. Water issue, should not schedule back to back groups if gonna use all the hot water cleaning before next group arrives.9. Location was beautiful, house was nice. But water issues ruined our first day.

Kitchen faucet leaked. We called and left a message. Hot tub was not desirable. It had green water in it and the cover didn’t fit. We ran out of water and had to call. We were being very careful with the usage of water because we didn’t want to run out. Very frustrated with no water. Beautiful home and gorgeous view we enjoyed.

Beautiful house. Perfect for all of us. Never could get the tv’s to work. Could have used a crock pot but overall we had a great week. Should list the pass code is on the garage. Maybe should check for a leak on the hot tub

Great home that easily accommodated 8 retired high school buddies Had a few minor issues on checkin that were taken care of quickly. Owner was responsive. Suggest bringing Roku to use TV and 4 wheel drive through May. The house is stunning and near all the great sites. Had a terrific time.

Amazing views
This place was amazing! Had wonderful views and tons and tons of space. 4 wheel drive is a must even the slick clay/gravel roads are a bit slippery with slope of the driveway/road. We had a wonderful time check in process was a bit nerve racking, I reached out through VRBO and the phone numbers they gave me but didn’t get check in information until about 1:30 before check in time, I left messages and never even got a phone call back. We did notice a few things when we got there like a screen door off one of the patio doors, there was no tv remote for the tv upstairs and they said they would have a maintenance guy come asap and we never seen one. Overall this property was amazing and I would definitely recommend and stay here again just hope the communication process could be better!

Beautiful Big Spacious
The views are incredible, the house is so spacious. We spent time skiing at Terry Peak. It was about a 10 min drive to get there. 4x4 vehicle is a must.

Amazing!!
This was one of our groups favorite houses ever!! We come out to the hills a couple times per year for ATV riding, so we have stayed at a lot of places. This one was awesome!! So big and had so many extras! We will be back!
