"Very clean, nice, and comfortable home. Its very convenient if you plan on riding the local trails. Since its an older house the stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom are quite narrow and steep, but not bad at all, just something to keep in mind. It is more of a guest house, but Threse and Mike were so kind and welcoming. We appreciated the time to chat with them to learn the history of the homes and see their beautiful garden. We would definitely come back again. "

"The house had something for everyone. Our puppies enjoyed running around the property. Our kids enjoyed the large living room for their dance game and pool. We all enjoyed the corn hole game and our beautiful surroundings. Everything was clean and the beds were fairly comfortable. I was super thankful for the AC. The UP was warmer than usual for September. We have no major complaints just two suggestions. A light over the stove would be great, but certainly no deal breaker. And the coffee maker...

"2 retired couples with small dogs looking for a place to relax and enjoy friends and each other and found it here. Amenities were all there. Very clean older farm type house on 40 acres with a pond. A trail is kept mowed to walk the acreage. Pond, Picnic table and fire pit a short walk from the house. Has grill provided. Enjoyed watching the deer walk thru. Beautiful sunsets.minutes from Houghton/Hancock and a short drive to Copper Harbor."

"We were actually bumped up to the Trail House, a welcome surprise as I’d just had a procedure the day before and was having some pain and mobility issues. Was provided with check-in details days before arrival. The cottage was gorgeous, spotless, beds and furniture were comfortable. Dependable WI-FI. Centrally located on the peninsula. Brochures were provided and were helpful in planning for food and gas and some attractions we wanted to see this time. We would rent this again and again! "

"The property needs some "Finishing touches" to be an excellent one. A headboard on the master bed, adult size life preservers if you are going to have kayaks and paddle boards for use on Lake Superior, a kitchen faucet that doesn't leak all over the countertop and a water filtration system that can remove tannins. The water is gross! "

"We both were frazzled from life and after a 14 hour trip to Eagle River, it was pure heaven! The house was immaculate. It is spacious and very tastefully and minimally decorated to reflect the area and history. The kitchen had everything! Our favorite room was the “library,” with an absolutely stunning view of the lake, sunsets, and town. "This property was ideal to accommodate our large group of friends and children for a reunion of MTU classmates. The house is HUGE so no one felt crowed. The basement had lots of fun games to keep our teenage children occupied. Some of the furniture has definitely seen better days, but everything was very clean. It was easy walking distance to both downtown Hancock and Houghton. I would definitely request to stay again if staying in the area with a large group."
