Latchford Bay Lake Waterfront Retreat

We welcome you to enjoy a private west facing vacation home located in the town of Latchford on the shores of Bay Lake. Latchford is a small town of 350 people on highway 11 between Temagami and Temiskaming Shores, about 75 minutes north of North Bay. Our quaint town offers a boat launch, a public beach, and kiddie park within a 3-5 minute walk.

Snowmobilers delight, as you can access right from the backyard, the OFSC trails, which offers some of the best riding across Northern Ontario.

You’ll appreciate the waterfront views from our fully furnished open concept raised bungalow. Two bedrooms are located on the main floor with the third bedroom and second bathroom on the lower level. The lower level also provides a secondary sitting area.

Prepare your meals while taking in waterfront views in a fully equipped kitchen, with a 7 foot island. BBQ (and patio furniture in summer) are provided on the 26 foot rear deck overlooking Bay Lake.

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat or outdoor adventure, Latchford has it all. For outdoor enthusiasts, Latchford provides an abundance of fishing opportunities, scenic hiking trails, spring and fall hunting, and so much more. Cap your day off by taking in the sunset with a relaxing lakeside fire. Whether you’re here for an adventure, or just looking to relax, we look forward to hosting you.

Beautiful place and Awesome hosts
the cottage/home is beautiful and so well equipped. The hosts were amazing. We had a few questions throughout the week and they were very fast to respond. Highly recommend this place.

Fabulous Stay!
Owners are very friendly, and home is immaculately kept. Property is large with many activities to keep one entertained. Near to sandy beach where there is ideal swimming conditions. On rainy, cold days lots to do inside. Good quality internet connection. Lots of entertainment available on tv. Fire pit available for camp fires with precut wood supplied. Mine tours in historic Cobalt within minutes if one is looking for day excursions. A very good vacation indeed!

Northern gem, will definitely be back!
The home was extremely welcoming and comfortable (beds and furniture). The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and amenities. Beautiful views from the second level porch and both docks. The lake is clean and inviting. We enjoyed having gas and supplies close by - easy trip to Liskeard or Temagami. Public beach was enjoyed and the chip stand has wonderful food and ice cream!! This 4-season property is a must, it’s worth the extra drive north of the city to find tranquility. Francine and Glen are amazing hosts. We will definitely be back next year.

Lovely stay on the lake
We had a lovely stay with hosts Glen and Francine and their lovely and immaculate home on the water Most of the wonderful things are already listed in the comments or the listing. One thing I would add was that the stars were fantastic for night viewing.

Home away from home
We we're greeted as soon as we got there by the owners of the property. They showed us around and made us feel very welcomed. The property was very clean and had everything there. Exactly what we were looking for. We felt very at home here and would definitely go back. We would recommend this property to everyone. Thank you Glen and Francine for such a beautiful weekend.

Super summer week
We loved our stay at the Latchford home. The lake was so peaceful and calm, ideally for canoeing and kayaking. Easy to launch from in front of the house. Dock, firepit area and the back porch with stunning view of the lake, were our favourite spots to hang out! The house had absolutely everything we needed and the beds were super comfy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Glen and Francine's property. They were easy to communicate with and went above and beyond our expectations to ensure we had an incredible experience. The house was well maintained, exceptionally clean, and equipped with everything we could possibly need and more. The views are spectacular and we enjoyed watching the ducks on the quiet lake just outside our backdoor. We truly appreciated all of the knowledge Glen and Francine were willing to share about the area and the fact that they were truly invested in ensuring we enjoyed our stay. Beautiful Place to Stay!!!
Our family stayed at the "Bungalow on the lake" for a week in July. We had a wonderful time fishing, tubing, water skiing and just hanging out with our grand daughter at our own little private beach. We would walk to the park or the dam every day since it was only minutes down the street. There's a couple of families of ducks and wildlife right in your own back yard. The Bungalow is very well equip with all the convivences of home and the views are amazing! Glen and Francine were very friendly and helpful. We'll be back:)

Cottage getaway
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage! The neighbours were a bit closer than anticipated but we had a great time. The shallow beach area (although a bit rocky) is perfect for children and dogs. The hosts were quick to answer our questions.

A great place to relax and unwind
A great, quiet location to enjoy with friends and family. The view from the second floor deck while you’re enjoying a morning coffee is spectacular. Great trails to hike nearby and it was great to be able to fish right from the dock! Our dogs loved the direct water access too. Would definitely stay again!

Clean, comfy and relaxing place to stay and play!
We had a wonderful stay in this clean, pet friendly, spacious home. Equipped with everything we needed to enjoy home cooked meals, bbq and walking right out to our snowmobiles to ride off from the back yard to enjoy the trails for the day. Our host had great communication and was very friendly. This home is heated with a forced air wood furnace, we found it convenient to use and kept the home nice and warm. Enjoy the beautiful views to be seen through the large window upstairs and top deck balcony. Comfortable beds, large bathrooms, washer and dryer. What more can you ask for? It really felt like home away from home. We highly recommend choosing this home for your getaway. We will be back again!!!

We rented this property for a winter trip snowmobile trails go right behind the backyard and tons of lakes around for all your fishing needs. House was great well kept updated and fully stocked with anything that you could’ve forgot to bring with you highly recommended for anybody looking for a getaway
