"we booked this room as we needed an overnight stay during a road trip. the room was nice and the location worked out great for the trip. the toilet bowl a noticeable smell. and there was no hot water. since we arrived pretty late we were hoping we can shower in the morning and leave but the water was freezing. we could barely wash our faces. there were no instructions as to how to turn the water heater on (assuming there was one) and we were in a rush so we couldn't wait for an answer."

"Great location for the Death Ride to ride to/from the start/finish. It was great to have a comfortable cottage to stay in before and after such a long ride. This is probably one of the most well equipped cottage I’ve ever stayed in. Although the home doesn’t have AC, it was a non issue with the cool breeze & multiple fans provided by the owner. Mike was great and responsive with his communication. I would definitely stay here again!!"

"The cabin had everything - the owners clearly stay here from time to time and hence it has everything a home needs. Very cleaned super comfortable beds. Markleeville also surprised us with a great restaurant, pub and other facilities."

"When my wife and I stayed it appears that they were in the process of updating and renovating this entire motel. The interior of our room had already been updated with fresh paint, new fixtures, floors, bed, bed stands, flat screen tv and a remodeled bathroom. Now It didn't mention it in the listing but I believe that the bathroom floors were heated which was a pleasant surprise. "Our group of men, (70+) has a tradition of an annual gathering for 41 years. Until Covid hit we camped in the Markleeville area. We are now comfortable with a house rental. This is our second year staying at 255 Sunrise Trail and the home suits our group perfectly. We feel comfortable and at home in this house."

"Comfortable cabin, close to lots of fishing. We had a great time. With no contact at the property, we weren’t too sure how to check in and check out. Once I found a phone number, the lady (check in) and gentleman (check out) made it easier."

"Such a short stay it’s difficult to review. Fun 50’s vibe. Management is remodeling after last year’s devastating fires, but honestly couldn’t tell if our room was a remodel or not! It was comfortable but bare-boned. The walls are paper thin, and our neighbor next to us had her TV on until 4 am. The BBQ place right across the highway was a great find! We’d definitely give them a second chance next time we travel that way."
