"Our family of 6 stayed here for a week. We used the house as both a place to relax and as a jumping off point to do other activities in Nova Scotia. We loved it here. We enjoyed numerous outings on Ponhook Lake in the canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboard provided by the owner. The house is beautiful, clean and very well kept up. The location is stunning, with the beautiful Ponhook lake in a wilderness setting with endless opportunities for exploration. A perfect place to stay if you want to...

"The property was stunning and the hosts amazing. It lacked a number of things that make life comfortable such as curtains (we were up with the sun), a place to unpack or even put a suitcase other than the floor, end tables and reading lamps, microwave etc. To be fair there was no microwave listed so it's on me that I didn't notice. Fabulous house and amazing views though"

"Overall we had a great stay and the owner was quick to respond and even took the time to meet up. The property has a couple of really nice decks and it seems the prevailing wind is towards the house which has a nice cooling effect, and will push boats back towards shore in case legs are tired. Many sights are within 25-60 driving if the property. Cleaning could have been better and the lack of wi-if (was not listed as amenity, but we felt it’s a normal expectation nowadays) was disappointing...

"This is a great base from which to explore the delights of Nova Scotia, as well as a perfect property to have a lazy day on the lake. We enjoyed swimming and canoeing every day, and even enjoyed the rain thanks to the massive sheltered area of the porch - very tranquil! The check-in process was super easy thanks to a very warm welcome from Karin who helped us navigate to the property - this was especially appreciated and generous given that it was dark out due to a delayed flight! "This is a hidden gem! The house was gorgeous and had the perfect cottage feel along with all the amenities. Located on a cute cove off the larger lake created a nice private feel and made the water warmer! Mike was great communicating with and answered all our questions! A great place to escape for the weekend. Would definitely recommend!!"
