Booked a 4-day stay for a family visit because it’s the only one located in La Vernia, TX. I paid nearly $800 for 4 nights, expecting a good stay. Unfortunately, it fell short. While I typically don’t leave reviews, I’m sharing this in hopes it helps improve the guest experience at this location.
From check-in, the staff didn’t greet me or return my hellos or smiles, which was disappointing. The room had a strong bad odor, so I bought a plug-in freshener. 1st evening, young kids ran up & down the hallways for 2 hours. I reported it via the hotel’s text system, but didn’t receive a reply until hours later. A request for extra towels went unanswered by text as well I eventually had to call the front desk.
The bathroom had no vent, so showers left the entire room damp including the bedding & windows. The shower head was poorly positioned towards the wall & couldn’t be adjusted. Day 3, 3 housekeepers were blocking my door with big carts & didn’t move or acknowledge me when I approached with a hello. I had to squeeze by. I quickly gathered some trash & politely said "I'm so sorry can I please dump this trash" She grabbed it, I thanked her & no reply.
We didn't do breakfast, the one morning we did the trays were empty & staff didn’t offer to refill them yet we saw a staff member carrying a full plate into the back office. Meanwhile we only had coffee. Very Strange Rude Staff!! Next La Vernia trip I will continue to stay with family as I usually do.
