"This stay was absolutely out of this world. Robert, the owner and designer of the place, is an excellent host, he left us a hand-written welcome note and some goodies. Sleeping next to the river and waking up to nature sounds feels like a movie. The house is well equipped with anything you might need. The design and coziness of the place is undeniable. "It's a nice house about halfway up one of the mountain roads, but contrary to what you might expect, it isn't really secluded. There are plenty of neighbors and their dogs all around. Overall, it's a fantastic house for the price, and can hold 5-6 people comfortably. The view is fantastic! However, just be aware you absolutely need a 4wd car to get up the disintegrated half pavement half dirt road. While this is a good house, and lots of space for the price, there are some ways where the house...

"Wow, what an incredible slice of heaven. Feels like you’re a million miles away from civilization. Waking up to the sounds of the birds in the morning, dinner with Gregory (host) and sitting on the porch in the evening were highlights of the stay. It’s a commitment to get up and down the road and 4wd is essential. As such I’d recommend staying at least 2 nights w/o going down. Hosts offers horseback rides and guided hikes around the property. Might be worth checking out. Sure, the accommodations...

"The property is amazing....i can see why its named the 8th wonder of the world. The home is biult right into huge rocks but you dont feel like you are in a cave. Robert has designed this home beautifully and uniquely. I would recommend you take advantage of his culinary skills and have him cook you a meal upon your arrival. It was soooo good....and a lot of food!!!! Pasta...braised ribs...roased artichoke...fresh cheese bread....house salad with home made dressing...shrimp...

"Came to Turrialba for the Canyons- but fell in love with this place. The deck was incredible, great place for mornings- watching the Tucan, watching the clouds roll by all from a comfy chair. The hot tub was a rare novelty. I spent time in other cities in CR, but this place is incredible. Absolutely will be back!"

"The host was wonderful and even brought us a fruit welcome. The home is great and bedrooms are set to either side of spacious common area, full kitchen, and an amazing deck that looks out over the town and volcano. We had an incredible stay!"

"The river and surrounding gardens are spectacular, including a pristine spring water source. My family loved going down to the river spontaneously for a plunge and relaxation on the warm smooth rocks. The home is a rare gem for the area because the kitchen and main patio gets early morning sunrise sunshine. It was divine to experience the combination of these things—sunrise, cold river water therapy, deep relaxation and fresh spring water! I felt so honored and grateful to the hosts for opening...

"The 2 bedroom home was beautiful situated with 3 other identical ones in a gated area. The kitchen had everything you’d need during your stay. Having a washer and dryer was an added bonus. Although we didn’t use the pool, it was very inviting. For us its proximity to national parks was so important as we wanted to hike."

"This home has everything you need and want! it even has cold AC in the living room / kitchen!! The only downside is rooms are upstairs and must be accessed via outside (so 3 different doors / keys). Thank you for everything and Pura Vida :)"
