Nestled above a retail space in the quaint La Jolla Shores neighborhood, this upstairs unit is a two minute walk from San Diego's most beautiful and family friendly beaches, La Jolla Shores.

The unit is upstairs from Hike Bike Kayak Adventures, who generously includes free equipment rentals for guests of this unit including kayaks, boogie boards, snorkels, foam surf boards, paddle boards and wetsuits. They also include 25% off guided tours for guests of this unit.

The unit is a one bed, one bath with queen size blow up matress. Perfect for a couple or young family.

La Jolla Shores is a mile long pristine beach and the neighborhood is much quieter, easier to park, and more relaxing than La Jolla Village. However, La Jolla Village and La Jolla Cove are still a five minute car ride, fifteen minute bike ride (for adults), or twenty minute walk. While La Jolla Shores has such famous restaurants as Piatti's, Osteria Romantica, and the five-star Marine Room, the shopping, restaurants, bars, and art galleries are still very accessible from this location.

From La Jolla Shores, depending on the season, you can relax on the beach in the sun, kayak the La Jolla Sea Caves, snorkel with the famous (and completely harmless) leopard sharks, kayak with gray whales, surf gentle waves, boogie board around the beautiful coast. All with equipment or instruction from Hike Bike Kayak Adventures.

Beautiful location

Property was beautiful and convenient for the location. Check in was fairly easy. Parking was manageable, however expect it to be limited. Overall great experience and residence.

Sharon's condo is a cozy little spot with some great food joints nearby and walking distance to the beach. Nothing fancy, but we loved getting up, grabbing a coffee, and taking a nice stroll on the beach. We took advantage of the tour discounts which I would highly recommend. We even went out snorkeling afterwards and saw some leopard sharks!

Loved this little property!

When we booked we were unaware the apt is upstairs, but it was one set which wasnā€™t awful. Both in our 60s with knee issues we would preferred a ground level property. But the apt was beautiful, comfortably furnished with a very luxe bed. Room air conditioners kept us comfy & cool. The property includes free use of kayaks and other beach equipment, which adds value, especially for families. Close to a very, very busy stretch of beach and great walking area for shops, food, etc, we loved this location!

Second stay here, excellent as before!

You just can't beat the location! And all the FREE rentals, my husband enjoyed paddle surfing every morning. Great coffee next-door and so much good food all around. The home is comfortable and has what you need. I appreciated the space in the drawers and the hanging space in the closet. I found shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom.

Great location in La Jolla Shores

We really loved this property. Perfect location just a short walk to the beach. Next door to a great coffee shop. Great space in the rental and we had plenty of room to spread out. We made use of the free kayak rentals and had two great trips during our week stay. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Memorable LaJolla

This 2nd floor apartment is quaint, centrally located and a short walk to the beach. We ate right across the street at the Sandpiper and cooked meals. Perfect coffee each day was just next door. Next time we will take them up on their free kayak offer. Not sure ibetter.

Great apartment, close to everything.

We really enjoyed out time at Sharonā€™s place. The apartment was nice and cozy, perfect for relaxing. We loved exploring the neighborhood and walking to the beach. We had everything we needed. There are several restaurants and shops nearby. We highly recommend staying here.

Perfect Stay in Perfect Location

Condo was as advertised and better! We loved it. Location is great with useful beach essentials provided (chairs and towels). Super easy to get around and easy access to route 30 bus into La Jolla and San Diego in a breeze. Highly recommend this rental to any couple looking to spend vacation in La Jolla!

Coming back!

We've stayed here before and love it. It's very light and has a wonderful decor and feel about it. It's quiet except in the morning with trash trucks. We soon got over that. Great location for going to the shore and also having a kayak or boogie board.

Great property close to a great beach

This condo was perfect for my sister and I to meet up with kids and enjoy the La Jolla Shores beach. The property was clean and as described, with a queen size bed in the room and inflatable mattresses that you could use (along with a couch) in the main living area or the bedroom. Since we had a couple of younger kids, they just slept on the floor and were fine. The kids also took advantage of the free boogie board rentals at the shops owned by the condo host, which was a great perk. The property is a quick 3-block walk to the beach, and it was a nice beach area that wasn't too crowded, even in August. Also nearby were several restaurants, so we didn't have to leave in the car to get meals. The only negatives: 1. Condo doesn't have a crib/Pack-n-Play, so we had to bring our own. One of us was driving so that worked out ok, but might be difficult for someone who has to fly. 2. It was difficult to get in touch with the host prior to our stay through the VRBO platform, until about 48 hours prior when we were able to get a phone number and could text. After that responses were quick. 3. Condo doesn't have central AC. There are two floor AC units (with the hoses that go through the window), one in the living room and one in the bedroom. It was only about 74 degrees outside, but the condo was about 85 during the day (with AC). 4. Parking is a little challenging, especially during the day when a lot of people are coming to the beach. Overall a great stay though.

Favorite Spot

Love this place. Weā€™ve stayed here a couple times now. Iā€™ve also stayed in other rentals within a block of this space. I prefer Sharonā€™s place. I find it to be quieter and more private. It may not be as updated as some of the other rentals in the area but itā€™s cheaper and larger with a lot of windows to open for the breeze. Also, parking in the area can be difficult especially during peak season. The option to use the alley to unload is really helpful. Sharon is super nice and low key and the added benefit of free kayak, snorkel, or paddle board is a big value add and money saver. I always check Sharonā€™s place first.
