My family and I had an awful experience, primarily with the property owner. She was utterly unhelpful. She required, at the last minute (like while we were on the road to OBX) a signed “Rental Agreement.” To save yourselves the trouble, no such agreement exists-it is a list of House Rules. She sent options on how to get the document back to her, which I couldn’t figure out. I pleaded numerous times for her to meet me and bring a copy since she’s local, but she dodged that request and continuously told me it was a requirement. Yes, she is local and scopes out the home. As my family was waiting in the driveway (even though she had not provided house code because I had not signed said agreement) she messaged to say she would be sending a payment request for early entry. Mind you, this was after 3pm!!! She wanted extra money for less than one hour knowing she was not going to give me the entry code. We did not gain access until after 5pm. The second floor balcony door has no handle and no locking mechanism. Faucets leak, toilets run, 4 injuries from the rough interior of the pool, no Dish as advertised. We left mid-week because the homeowner continued to ask for a signed copy of the rental agreement with revisions as we had two more guests, however she did not make attempts to help my confusion on how to do so with my phone. My family was worried all week that we would be evicted.
