"Beautiful little cottage. Me and my husband took our dog away for a few days in January '25 and this was perfect. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was warm and spacious with a view of the garden. The kitchen had everything that you could need and the fire was great to settle down infront of after a long day exploring This was a good base for exploring Northumberland."

"The Gate House is exactly as described. The property is small but very well appointed (in fact, it felt the perfect size). The host was quick to respond to queries and both thoughtful and detailed in replies. The views of the surrounding landscape are beautiful. The hot tub is nice. The main drive for Hetton Hall is nearby but that wasn’t an issue. We enjoyed a few nights of relaxing time in this excellent property. "The house was mostly comfortable but needs some upkeep. The communication with the host was a challenge and they did not reply to most messages (even an acknowledgment of receipt would be okay). One of the showers we could not adjust the temperature, 2 of the showers had mold. One of the biggest challenges was trying to cook as the cookware is very worn and some of it unusable. "Fantastic setting so peaceful with beautiful views. Very cosy well equipped cottage. A perfect base for exploring the beautiful countryside. Only downside was that the next door cottage was also a holiday home so privacy while in the amazing big conservatory with fantastic views of the countryside was limited.
