Piedras Hermosas is a split-level vintage house from the 1970's. It has an unheated pool with a cabana for hot summer days, and a grill and smoker for cooking outside. It's at the southern end of the Sequoia National Forest, near the Kern River and several hiking trails. Don't be surprised if you see deer, bears, mountain cats and other wild life including a variety of birds. Bring Bear Spray.
The main floor is and where you'll enjoy meals, play cards, or just sit and enjoy the space. There is also a wood burning fireplace for cold winter nights. The kitchen is equipped with most items for cooking. Off the dining room, is the solarium that will take you to the refreshing pool or the greatroom. There you'll find a large sectional leather couch, a smart tv, a pool table, a dart board, and a wet bar.
On the Kern River you can fish, kayak, and inner tube, but beware, the Kern River is VERY STRONG and can be dangerous. Life jackets are a must. There are also many hiking trails, plus we are a short drive to Lake Isabella, if you like to kite surf. The winds can be strong over the lake. Inquire at the Ranger Station for permits. We are about 1 mile from the center of quaint Kernville. There you will find shops, restaurants and bars.
