The Lake House on the Oak Orchard

With plenty of space for your group, our Lake House is the perfect place to relax on the creek. We are around the corner from Ernst's Lake Breeze Marina where charter boats are docked. If you have a party coming into town to go fishing, it will be a convenient stay. We are also close to Niagara Falls, the Finger Lakes region and many other sites. If you want to plan a trip for the family to come and explore our area, there is room for you all to relax after a long day of adventuring.

We have docks on property. If you would like to bring your private boat on your trip, we are happy to provide you with a slip to dock at. With some of the regions best fishing, fall is a great time to stay and try your hand at the salmon run upstream or watch the leaves change. There are places nearby to rent boats as well if you want to spend some time on the water.

We also have two other cottages and a houseboat on property with the ability to host 14 people total. Contact host for details.

Get away weekend
Enjoyed staying here. The house is very clean and both well decorated and supplied. We really enjoyed having a fire pit to spend time at in the evenings. Despite being near a major road it was quiet and peaceful.

Nice place
Perfect stay with all the amenities needed. From kitchen cookware utensils to bathroom hooks to hang wet towels and places to set down your toiletrie bag. Places for everyone to sit and also eat together because of the beautiful handmade large dinning room table. Screened in front porch made it super nice to still be outside when it rained! Definitely recommend this house.

Nice, Simple House
Simple and spacious. Enjoyed the little, rustic screened in porch. Was not expecting the long staircase and ramp down to our boat, as the pics didnt really show. But, perfect for getting out on the water easily. The host was very hospitable and helpful. Only negatives were that the plug-in air fresheners gave me a headache and I had to pull them out until we were checking out. And, the window AC units did not keep the whole house cool and they were rather loud.gave

Great!
My family and I loved the property. The beginning was a little off with a full day of travel and then not having the correct code to enter the home, but within 45 minutes, we were in and getting warm! There was plenty of room for the 7 of us and we would most definitely recommend and book again! Many thanks to Laura and her assistant Theresa!!

Good accommodations
Casual fun place to stay with the family for a nearby wedding. Loved being able to look out over the water and walk on the docks. Nothing fancy about the house, but has all we needed. OK, a dishwasher would be nice! We would come again. Thanks Laura.

Annual NY Fishing trip
The rental was clean and in a central location to fishing streams and other destinations. The property was overlooking the Oak Orchard River adding to the beauty and comfort of the stay. The fishing was very good, so overall this was an awesome trip! Thank you!

Great accommodations for a charter fishing trip
Five of us celebrated a bachelor party with a charter fishing trip. We were quite a range of ages. The Lake House was a great place to stay. It was close to the marina and several restaurants. It has a nice fire pit with chairs outside, overlooking the river. Bring firewood if you plan on using the fire pit or you can buy some nearby which we did.

Wonderful
Overall a wonderful stay! Communication was smooth and Laura, went out of her way to accomodate our family. The house is very clean and beautiful! We were in awe the moment we entered the house. We love everything about it specially the decors and the fixtures. In addition, the kayaks are perfect as the children paddled on the creek. We also enjoyed the Circle R farm 5 minutes away from the house. Their ice cream is delicious. Overall, great memories were made in the house and we are planning to be back.

Cute and Quiet
We stayed here with our family during a two week east coast getaway. It was a good location as we spent time in Rochester and visited Niagara Falls. It is quite remote and the little store next door is closed now. Laura is quick to respond and the the sleeping accommodations are very comfortable.

Perfect Vacation
We absolutely loved this house! Relaxing location. Very clean house with such cute decorations. Owner was quick to respond to all my questions. We enjoyed the store right next door, Circle R Farms just down the road for dinner and ice cream, and even found an awesome barn sale full of antiques not far from us. Thank you for making our first time to NY state an amazing adventure!

Cute House
The home was perfect for our family. Loved the views, the docks and the absolutely quiet nights. The home was clean and comfortable. There is a little grocery store for little things you may have forgotten right across the parking area. We also discovered the best ice cream stand only 2 miles away called Circle R. They also have a produce store and yummy food truck. It may feel like it's far from everything, but it really isn't. We loved the location. We will definitely be rebooking as soon as we know when we can travel up that way again.

Great house for anglers
The house was perfect for 4 steelhead fly fishermen and close to the action on the water. Loved the view from the porch and watching tundra swans on the River. The owner was fantastic and very helpful. This will be the first place we check for availability on our next trip.

Very convenient location for going to Niagara Falls, and close to all the places we go Salmon fishing. Now instead of driving an hour from Rochester to go fishing , we only drove about 3 miles . House was very clean and a very nice place. We will definitely try to stay here again. Ron F.

Great stay
The house is clean, well equipped, and modern and Laura is a thoughtful host- she was very helpful and quick to respond to messages. We were a group of 8 friends, so she was able to set up the beds as singles for us. There’s no AC in two bedrooms upstairs but there are fans available and we were fine cracking a window at night. The spacious dining room fit all of us comfortably for eating and playing games. The location is a little remote but it’s conveniently located right next to a tackle shop/convenience store and a couple of marinas. We were able to walk over and rent a pontoon boat at Captain’s Cove (highly recommend.) It’s also only a short drive to Lake Ontario- Hamlin Beach state park is nearby. There are a couple of other rentals on the property- the cottage and the house boat down at their private docks. The docks are huge and you’re able to tie up your own boat there but you do have to walk down and around to get there. The creek itself is not clean for swimming but we we took our rental out to Lake Ontario to jump in and cool off. You could also use the kayaks at the house. We enjoyed playing games in the yard and sitting around the campfire. There were some adorable kittens lurking around the house and I’m surprised that no one tried to sneak one away in their suitcase haha. Can’t say enough good things about the lake house. Highly recommend, especially for a family trip especially if you’re interested in fishing.

Beautifully renovated lake house
We stayed for a whole week with 8 people including two young kids and everyone had an amazing time. The house was beautifully renovated and modern, and the screened in front porch made morning coffee and late night conversations easy and bug free. The only negatives were that The new docks were slightly more difficult to get to (access) than we thought and we couldn’t just walk right out there’s a huge cliff so you have to kind of hike down and around to get on the docks. Plus with the new docks, we couldn’t put our boat right in where we stayed we had to put it in at a marina and drive it across, and there were no air conditioners in two of the upstairs rooms which made sleeping difficult for the kids who had those rooms on hot evenings, and we didn’t have some needed kitchen items for cooking such large meals for a big family, which we informed the hostess so hopefully those items will be there in future years and for bigger families who need to cook big meals, but other than those things, which were only minor, we had a fantastic week and would still stay here again.

Family getaway
The property was very clean and the rooms were perfect for our group. The sleeping quarters were excellent, dining room table was great for our dinners and game playing. Kitchen was very clean and modernized and everything you need during your stay was supplied. We used the firepit in the evening to wind down after dinner before game playing. The only downside was that dock access for fishing and just haning out by the water is under repair. BUT we improvised and everything worked out great. We all had a super time.

Nice cottage near Lake Ontario
This is an older cottage, very nicely refurbished and decorated. Window AC units cool most of the ground floor and the master bedroom upstairs, the other two upstairs bedrooms have fans available. We stayed during a hot week, it wasn’t too bad. Kitchen is well equipped, dish washing by hand. No washing machine for guests. Unfortunately we could not use the dock as it is being rebuilt, but there are plenty of water sports and fishing opportunities nearby. Drive to a state park with water access is about 20 min, to another nice park with water view and trails only 5 minutes. Nice restaurants in the area, 5 to 25 minutes away (Medina). We did a trip to Niagara Falls, stayed overnight near the falls to have time to see and experience everything. Driving time about an hour and 15 min. Overall a good experience for travelers who like the quiet rural setting and diverse landscape with many historic villages.

Father’s Day weekend 2021
Wonderful experience!! The lake house was a perfect fit for us. Everything inside appears to be new or extremely well cared for. The beds were very comfortable. Linens and towels were brand new it seemed. We had NO issues at all. The view of the water is special. So much wildlife. During the weekend we were able to meet the host as they were putting in a a new (huge!) floating dock. I rarely if ever get to meet a host and I’m glad to have met Laura. She puts a lot of effort and attention into her properties and her guests. Future guests are in for a very nice treat when the dock is opened for use. There is a small superette next door with a very nice lady who runs it, along with a tackle shop. My family has been guests at several properties over the years and though all are nice- some are better. THIS Is one of those times. I cannot recommend this property and these hosts enough. We will be back!
