"A great weekend break location in the town but quiet with fantastic views across the river. Food was excellent and most of the staff very friendly and helpful. Only 1 negative was the 1 of the breakfast staff, who was quire frankly terrible and her atitude almost spoilt the weekend. Though an older lady, she would benefit in further training around customer care. "

"Great central location from which to explore the Borders region from Bamburgh to Melrose ; from the Alnwick Gardens to Edinburgh. After a great day exploring to return to our quiet countryside cottage for a relaxing glass while watching the sunset over the hills as the the horses enjoying a late night snack in the paddock and the swifts and bats doing tricks was wonderful . "Lovely spacious well-heated house in beautiful countryside. We had a week of snowy weather which was heavenly. Edward, the owner was extremely helpful. He towed out some cars which got stuck in the car park by the house, provided lots of logs, replaced the washing machine which had problems and was generally a great help. This is a house for people who like old books and furnishings...don't go there if you want modern posh."

"Enjoyed our stay in this country pile. The owner was friendly and helpful and the location was great. We enjoyed a walk around the loch and the views. House decently equipped for self-catering. The issue was the agent company who are managing the property - they failed to update the details on the heating contribution costs, send us any info about how to check-in or pass on the owners details or the owners request for our bank details to return the deposit. "
