The lake was a perfect getaway for the family. Nothing fancy, totally delivers. Kayaks, canoe, paddles, lifejackets, dock, porch, fire pit... they all played a role in our appreciation of the tranquil lake.
The property has easy access to the highways and provides a good in-between for Burlington, Adirondack Park, Lake Champlain, Fort Ticonderoga, etc. Definitely consider taking advantage of the nearby activities like Ausable Chasm and the local trails. The chasm offered a premium bridge/climb experience that made the whole thing worth it - we also enjoyed our tube float too.
If you've got a favorite cast iron skillet, pan for eggs, or coffe-making device, bring them. Otherwise the kitchen was great for camp cooking. The bottled drinking water was great.
Also, not a ton of direct sunlight. So drying items on the porch rail took a bit. But the south facing lookout over the lake meant for some picturesque sun and shadows play all day on the opposite shore. Take advantage of the sun when you can, we also had some cloudy, rainy days typical of the higher elevations.
My kids are begging me to go back!
