"Loved the view from the living room, dining room, and lanai - 180 degrees of ocean. We even saw whales!!The hosts were very responsive. We had trouble with a bedroom light, they had it fixed the next day. And when the power went out while we were away, they texted to warn us, and supplied flashlights and drinking water to make sure we'd be OK.I can't recommend this place enough!! Next time we travel to Hawaii I hope it's available!"

"We had an amazing stay at this VRBO! The location was perfect—just outside of Hilo, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere while still being close to everything we needed. It was the ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring.The owners were absolutely lovely and a pleasure to talk to. They made us feel so welcome from the start, even greeting us with a cute surfboard welcome sign. It was such a thoughtful touch. "Beautifully renovated house. Perfect for a family with its 3 bedrooms. However you must use your car for all your travels as Paradise parc 20 minutes from Hilo and there are few services nearby. Owner Derrick is easy to reach and his communications are clear and to the point. "

"We enjoyed staying at this quaint cottage nestled outside of Hilo. "

"This was a great property. I stayed in one of the one bedroom apartments with an extra bed in the living room. It was comfortable. The yard was beautiful. The owners were extremely helpful and easy to work with over the phone and by text. The gardens were amazing. This property was very easily accessible to the Hilo side of the island. We were about an hour from volcanoes national park and we were about an hour in the other direction from many great venues. Would I stay here again? Yes I would."

"The experience of staying at Kalani Oceanside Retreat was very relaxing and beautiful. We enjoyed the yoga class we signed up for very much. The people we encountered, both guests and staff, were great to talk with. The cottage we stayed at had lots of room and we had a fabulous view of the ocean and grounds around us."

"The Tree Cottage in the Rainforest was such a unique and beautiful stay! The property is a bit tucked away with lots of foliage, which added to the rainforest charm. It’s about a 7-minute drive to Volcanoes National Park, making it a great location for exploring.There aren’t many restaurants nearby, and most eateries close by 6 PM, but the cottage has a full kitchen for convenience. There are a few food trucks, but I’d recommend planning meals accordingly. The microwave is tucked under the...

"Very peaceful, beautiful home.We saw at least 15 whales on Day one from the living-room windows and several more throughout the trip. Perfect whale-watching venue.Easy to get to the Volcano Natl Park from here as well."
