Escape the Heat - Cool Off in the Carolina Mountains This July @ Rivers Edge

Happiness is…. a fun-filled riverfront vacation! Look no further this is the perfect family vacation home. Located on the banks of the New River close to Jefferson this three-bedroom, two bath home sleeps up to 10.

Inside this two-level home the main level offers a cozy living room with satellite TV and gas log fireplace. The warm country kitchen and dining area is tastefully decorated with mix and match antiques and modern accents which has brought a feeling of being right at home. Just down the hall you will find two bedrooms and a full bath with tub and shower. The master bedroom features a king bed and doors that open to the deck and view of the river below. The guest bedroom offers a comfy queen bed.

Downstairs you’ll love the den with TV and fireplace, ping pong table for the family to enjoy, full bath and another guest bedroom with two sets of bunks.

On the lower-level deck, you’ll find a brand-new hot tub for ultimate outdoor relaxation and enjoyment as you take in the beautiful river views.

So, come sit on the open deck and enjoy the cool mountain breezes. The sights, sounds and smells of summer are as much as part of the ambiance as the comfortable easy chairs and well-used game table. From morning coffee to casual suppers and long cheery evenings with family and friends you’re sure to make memories of a lifetime.

For some winter fun, head to one of our three most popular ski resorts: Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mtn, or Beech Mtn.

Great view, nice amenities

It was so nice to have a getaway on this property. The house was clean and cozy. The hot tub was clean and we enjoyed all the house had to offer.

Thanksgiving Trip

We enjoyed our stay! Location was great! Only complaint was bunk bed room.. it was really hard to open and close doors, had to be done from the inside to open, as bunk beds block door. We had 11 year olds staying in there so it was okay, but just warning for those with younger children. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Location

The property was great, just as described. Location was perfect for Tubing at Zaloo’s. Had a couple great evenings by the fire. Only negative was the cleaners missed some items in the basement while cleaning.

Overall very nice vacation spot. A little smaller than I anticipated, but we still had plenty of room with our family of 7. The deck & patio are beautiful right near the River.

Great Place to stay and fish on the New River

House was older and had an old smell to it. For use on the River it was perfect as we were not in the house for long periods of time. Location was great. Great wade fishing opportunity up and down the river in knee/waist high water. Caught 15 fish in 2 hours the afternoon we arrived.

Great River Access

Came to town for a wedding in Purlear and spent the week over Memorial Day. House was nice with plenty of space and great access to river. It had rained is 2 days and did still enjoy the hot tub. A "pop-up" campground for Memorial Day Weekend appeared next door and while it wasnt loud or anything just a nuisance of about 7 campsites. Beds slept good and was able to sleep well and others had same to say. Just up the road from Zaloo's kayak and tubing so there was traffic on road out front. Road busy during day but quieted down at night time. Easy drive to Jefferson and W Jefferson for groceries and went to Boone for a dinner. All in all a good experience and my dog loved the river as did I and family. I will be back and recommend it to other.

Charming cabin with great access to the New River.

Our family enjoyed our stay at the River's Edge. We all liked the convenience of putting the canoes in the river. The only negative is that to access the bunk bedroom, you must go thru the basement bedroom. A very beautiful part of our country.

Disappointed

First we were surprised at how close to a busy road this is. The road was under construction and we could hear traffic and trucks all night long. The back yard and deck areas are large and the location to the river is excellent! Relatively easy access to get into the water from the back yard, which was nice. The house needs a really good deep cleaning. There was dirt in every corner, especially in the game room where the ping pong table is. The kitchen is well equipped, however, there were MOUSE DROPPINGS in the kitchen cabinet and IN the pots…GROSS!! The downstairs area REEKED of mold and mildew. The filter behind the couch looked like it had not been changed in a very long time. We went, on our own, to purchase mold and mildew remover, new filters and candles. We went to get a blanket out of the closet in the bunk room and it smelled like something had died! We closed off the room for the remainder of the stay, luckily we did not need those beds. FYI, that room is VERY small and my 15 year old said it was creepy. Overall we enjoyed our stay due to the outside space and the proximity to the river. I left all of this information on the feedback sheet provided but I did not receive any contact in reference to our experience and concerns.
