A cute on-the-beach cottage with 3 bedrooms - and not a "Mc-Mansion" with 10 bedrooms that no one can afford? Yes, your dream has come true!

THIS GORGEOUS BEACH DUPLEX IS PET-FRIENDLY - AND IN BEAUTIFUL SHAPE. You will not believe such a beautiful house allows your pet, but we find that our guests at A Breath of Fresh Aire have been very conscientious about their four legged family members.

NOW MY WIFE SAYS I TALK TOO MUCH. She told me to shut up and let our guests tell the story. So here they go:

'Our family can't wait until July this year - we have stayed at Amazing Grace for the last three years - this year we will stay at Breath of Fresh Air - A wonderful ocean-front duplex - very nice and owner is a delight to deal with. A great deal here at Topsail!!!'

'Our humans brought us to watch them unwind at this wonderful house on the beach. We got long walks on the water's edge and saw turtle nests and lots of crabs and dolphins. We also got peaceful naps to the sound of the surf. We had such a good time watching our humans uncoil and become fun companions that we did not want it to end. Imagine shrimp on the grill (on the driveway as per Fire Marshall rules), kids on the beach, and a cold beverage in your hand as you sit on the deck above the dunes. The wide beach invites you to stay all day long.

A Breath of Fresh Aire is BEACH FRONT. It is not a piano lot, or a view between two houses, or in a condominium complex. It is a real OCEANFRONT house. Sit on the beach or sit on a marvelous deck just a few feet away from the crashing waves.

Do you like to bike or run? There is a bike shoulder on the main road the entire way from the north to south. The island is like 22 miles long, so you can get a good work out.

You can even bike for fun (like I do). Recently I rode my bike to the south end, and the smell of Jasmin and ocean air was unbelievable. I stopped on the far south point of the island and walked around the beach on the undeveloped point. I then rode back to Topsail Beach city hall and said hi to the ladies who worked there. (They had kindly sent me an invitation to pay real estate tax in their city even though my house is not in their city. I graciously declined :-) but they were very pleasant!) I then rode back to Surf City and promptly bought an ice cream cone at DQ just to make sure I hadn't burnt off too many calories, then leisurely rode back to the beach house.

Believe me, this place is fun.

And I haven't even told you about Giligan's, just before the bridge on the mainland side and it's hilarious karaoke nights, or about Sears Landing and its award winning clam chowder made with sherry, or Indigo Marsh - the best restaurant overlooking the sound that you will ever find. Oh, and how about the fresh fish market (I mean right off the boat) behind the Crab Pot where you can get shrimp, flounder, shark or whatever they have been catching and take it back and grill it.

Or you can play 18 holes at Coastal Carolina's only four-star golf course, North Shore Golf and Ocean Club (as per Golf Digest). Perhaps you would like to deep sea or surf fish...or maybe spend an hour with your son or daughter fishing off the sound dock just steps from your beachfront villa. And did we mention riding jet skis on the nearby sound?

It truly was "a breath of fresh air"!

The property was perfect for us. We literally just walked down the steps and were on the beach. The location was very convenient to restaurants , shopping and grocery stores. The host was very responsive and helpful and also provided great restaurants to visit. We enjoyed the time at this property and plan to stay again!

Amazing location

The house location is wonderful, such a nice beach. The house itself could use some TLC, the master bed ceiling paint was cracked and coming down, several broken shades and trim pieces. Not at all a bad place, just needs some updating along with the photos on the listing. The owner communicated just enough and overall, the stay was great.

just a wonderful experience with plenty of breaths of fresh air

we really enjoyed our stay at "breath of fresh air" location was perfect., walking right off your deck to the beach was fabulous, we have stayed at many different places and getting to the beach from the house was the best so far...i would prefer to have a bedroom off of the living room on this setup because stairs were a little too much for us elders. overall i have no complaints at all we had beautiful weather the week we were there couldn't ask for anything better than that...this is the kind of place i would want to buy for myself...thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Spring Break getaway

We enjoyed our stay for a little family/grandparent getaway for spring break. Perfect location, quiet beach, and the kids woke up each morning excited to walk out the back door to play in the sand. Host was responsive, knowledgeable about the area, and we would stay here again!

We picked this property because you can walk right off deck directly to beach which was about 150 yards. Incredibly close. We saw dolfins and found about 50 shark teeth on beach. Great restaurants, shops and park that are close. Host was very responsive to questions we had.

Great location

This is probably the most well located property we have stayed at, in relation to closeness to the beach. Just a few steps and you are on the beach. Excellent for us older individuals that have to really work to walk in the sand. The property is in need of some TLC, but I understand that is the consensus from most that stay here. We were able to work around most issues, but I would give the property 3 stars for the condition. We also had issues with the cable TV in all the rooms. Fortunately we brought our own Roku devices, and the WiFi worked OK so we were able to watch TV. (This ain't my first rodeo). I let Steven know about some of the issues we found, so maybe he will address those. Overall a nice place, EXCELLENT location on the beach. Nice neighbors (beautiful great dane in the house next door!). Very pleasurable time if you walk in prepared.

Great Beachfront Property for Small Family

Great place right on the beach about midway between public beach access points so relatively uncrowded compared to beach access points. Accommodations were clean and adequate. Although, no bedroom on ground floor made it somewhat challenging for my elderly mother. Overall, a great place for small family getaway!

This house was the perfect place to spend our 2 weeks at the most beautiful beach on the east coast. We love Topsail for so many reasons and the location of this house was great for anyone who wants to just get away and forget the real world for awhile.

Soothing

The location was fantastic. Eight steps down to the sand, oceanfront. At high tide you could throw a rock from the deck to the ocean with a good arm. The duplex was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The best thing to me was the communication and response from the owner. Steve was great at providing us information and making himself available. Great stay.

This was a very nice home and just what we needed and expected. We were a little disappointed no dolphins showed up for us to see but the ocean was beautiful. Being so close and watching the high and low tides was great. I would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future.

Amazing beach house

We had a great time at ā€˜Breath of Fresh Air. The house was extremely clean, kitchen was well stocked and the views of the beach are breathtaking. Every bedroom has a view and the balcony outside the master bedroom overlooking the beach is beautiful. We enjoyed seeing sunrises every day from our room. Overall, our family enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Beautiful view!

We stayed at Breath of Fresh Air the week of Christmas through NewYear. The owner was extremely helpful with questions and also gave us several suggestions on place in the area to eat. We enjoyed a relaxing stay and spent days watching the ocean from the double-decker porch as well as the comfortable living room. The home is just as advertised only steps away from the beach. We enjoyed walking the beach, finding shark teeth and seeing many dolphin. We explored and walked the three piers in the area, as well as a boardwalk in the park at Surf City. Would definitely consider a return visit.

Beachfront location on a budget

Nice home right on the beach. Nightly rate was less than others so we gave it a try. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the home, however it does lack upgrades that would make it a much more enjoyable stay (kitchen and bath countertops, showers, bath sink vanities very short, etc.). Laminate floors downstairs are nice, carpet upstairs could use an upgrade to laminate floors. Initial communication with the property manager was good, however messages went unreturned once we made payment. We had a simple request to add a day to the front or back of the trip, tried more than once to make contact, never received a reply. Again, if you are on a tight budget this place will work just fine. If you are looking for a more upscale experience, consider another option.
