Great little getaway in a convienient location
My husband and I stayed here while we were in town for the Mayo Clinic. The apartment feels like a little beach side cottage in the interior and it’s clear how much work the owners put in to give it a lot of personality and make it comfy. I loved the colors and classic furniture and it made the place feel happy. We had everything we needed and when we encountered problems the host was easy to contact and helped us solve them quickly and easily! The only downside is this is very close to the heart of the city (by a suburban couples standards,) and the area around can be loud at all hours. My illness keeps gives me insomnia so I noticed the train, the loud music from outside, and I could hear talking and yelling right outside till 2 or 3 am. So if that bothers you it may not be the place for you. But you trade the quiet for convenience as there’s everything you could need within a few miles. (Or even blocks.) A grocery, a drug store, bars and restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, arcades and antique shops.

Christmas Getaway

Super cute place!
The stairs were slippery and my dog refused to use them after losing her footing. There was a long black hair on the sheets when we went to get into bed, and the front porch needs a good cleaning. Otherwise the place was great and in a very convenient location. If not for the stairs, we would stay here again no question.

The place was clean. However, we could not get the fan to work in the back bedroom. Directions for operating tv could have been much clearer. And we were not aware the accommodations were on the second floor.

Comfortable and airy 2nd floor 2 bdrm apartment
My mother and I were traveling to attend a memorial service and wanted our own rooms. This apartment was incredible. The bathroom is beautiful with a great tub and shower. The beds were new and comfortable. One room is a little small, but perfect for our needs. At night the street was a little rowdy with people partying at the nearby bars and clubs, but we mostly didn't notice. The neighborhood is walkable with restaurants and shops nearby. A short drive to most things.

This was not a pleasure trip (Mayo appointment), so we were not able to enjoy the area as others might. It felt like a safe area. Well stocked kitchen and lots of TV options. It's a LONG flight of stairs (double railings) to the upstairs apartment, so be sure this works for you.

Lovely stay
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Cons: One of the beds was uncomfortable due to mattress being sunk in and the bathroom was not clean to our satisfaction when we arrived (moldy shower curtain and soap or toothpaste smeared in shower). If you are sensitive to sound, beware the nearby bars and traffic can be loud well past midnight though our stay was not bothered by this. Pros:This location was great for us, within walking distance of several vegan and gluten free food options. Close to a great dog park! The home is a lovely old building with great outdoor space on front and back porches. The kitchen is nice and well-equipped. Bathroom would be perfect if it is cleaned properly.

This place had such a sense of community to it. I felt like I was connected to all the people who had stayed before. It is no wonder this host has such a loyal following! I was so happy to contribute to the happiness of future guest in the same way we had been helped. The apt was beautifully appointed, the maintenance was clearly seen to regularly and the environment made it very easy to visit with family. Thank you, Ava!

The property was more than I could have hoped for. It was amazing comfortable, clean and was a nice home away from home. I would stay here again in a minute if ever again in Jacksonville. The home was close to food and local entertainment as well as shopping.

Another Fantastic Stay
Staying at one of Ava’s properties is safe, seamless, and as enjoyable as you want to make it. She is responsive to any questions and cares about your comfort. TV is easy to operate if you come back and just want to veg out. House/apartment is spotless and welcoming. You can’t do wrong staying at her properties. It’s my 2nd time. Book and relax and enjoy the area.

Wonderful Property, Great Owner
The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The property owner even went out of her way to make certain that we had a pack and play for our baby to sleep in. Our biggest complaint is the location. Not being from the Jacksonville area, we had no idea that this place was right in the middle of where there is quite an active nightlife for college students. The apartment being in an old building meant that little of the outside noise was dampened; it was a rough night with the baby. If you're into the night scene and don't mind a lot of noise until 3 am, this is a great place. If you and your family are just looking for an overnight stay on your way to another destination, consider another location. If this owner has other properties in more quiet areas I would 100% consider staying there next time.

Great location
This property is exactly as described. We had the top floor apartment of the house. We wanted to stay in the Riverside/Avondale area of Jacksonville so this fit the bill. It’s less than a block from King Street and you can walk to restaurants, bars, pizza. The house is In a really artsy, cool neighborhood with lots of renovated bungalow homes and a few that needs some TLC. It was perfect for walking my dog. The apartment had everything the three of us needed. Ava was extremely responsive and so easy to work with.
