I reserved this property months in advance for myself, my senior mother and my 6 year old. We received the access code the day before our arrival. When we arrived after a long day of travel at 9:30 pm, the access code did not work and the owner could not be reached by phone, VRBO message or the ring doorbell on the property. It was late and freezing and VRBO customer service was of absolutely no help. After an hour in the cold, trying desperately to reach the host and work with VRBO, we went to the nearest hotel, 20 minutes away, and secured rooms there instead. The host finally texted me the correct code while I was checking in to the hotel. By then it was too late and we ultimately did not stay at this home. The lack of attentiveness of the host and loss of this accommodation for us was a major inconvenience which significantly impacted our entire trip. In addition to a very long night upon our arrival, we had to stay much further from the event for which we were in town. Blizzard conditions over the weekend made this extremely dangerous. We did receive a refund.
