"We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous stay at Harkstead Hall. The house is beautiful. Spacious and has absolutely everything you need for a fun stay with friends. "Birds farm is a lovely place to stay for the local Essex or Sussex area. Very quiet in the evenings, despite being just off a busy road. Great facilities, good comfy beds, very warm heating and well supplied cooking facilities. A pool for summer, grounds and a Summer house and a well stocked games room for kids if the weather is bad. "The property was perfect for myself, my husband and our cocker spaniel. It was comfortable and cosy with a lovely bed and great shower. Communication with the owner, Christina, was perfect. Everything we could have wanted was available at the property including treats for the dog. We enjoyed visiting some lovely towns and villages in the area. Unfortunately the stormy weather stopped us from going walking as there are many footpaths nearby. We would certainly return to this property. "

"My tiny room was sufficient and quiet,of human noise anyway.The restfulness of my stay was however ruined by some sort of generator or extractor that hummed like an aeroplane on and off night and day outside. Duvet only just warm enough and I am not a fussy person. Place a bit soulless and staff therefore a bit disengaged. It’s an interesting formula for low cost accommodation but needs tweaking back a bit from being quite so basic and functional."
