"If you are looking for peace, quiet and the experience of remote living in Scotland the White House is just perfect. Car necessary as it’s a 25 min drive to nearest town with facilities. We had hired cars which was just as well as there was no way our own cars could have coped with the terrain and the snowy weather. "Brilliant place to catch up with friends - wonderful social space with such a peaceful view into the forest and a great base to explore the area. A few dead flies around when we arrived and the cleaners things (including supplies of wine and cleaning products) were left out when we arrived, and the shelf with the glasses on is slanting so we took the glasses off to avoid disaster - but none of those things affected our enjoyment of the property which we would recommend (and may come back again!)...

"We had a wonderful weekend staying at this beautiful property. The location was stunning and wonderfully quiet, and the house itself was perfect. "We all enjoyed our stay for our Dad's 70th Birthday. The pool was used constantly! The house was very clean, well equipped and beds comfortable. The grounds and surrounding areas to the property are beautiful. Alan, the host was good at communicating and replied very quickly to any queries I had. My only gripe, which didn't detract from the stay at all, would be plastic cups for the pool area and maybe some pictures and ornaments throughout the house to make it feel more homely. Thank you...

"This property was exactly as expected and really good value. The location is lovely and really convenient for hiking, mountain biking and all the area has to offer. Ballater is very close (less than 10 min cycle). Interior is exactly as in the photos. Plenty of space for boots, coats etc. Comfortable beds with lovely linen. "
