Hunter Mountain Family Vacation
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. And the pool was awesome, just the right depth for everyone. Carrie is a great Hostess. We'll definitely be back again for our next family gathering.

Really Fun and Accomadating
Really fun stay and experience overall. We ran into a few issues with the property but the owner touched base with us in a timely, concerned, and proactive manner. Would definitely recommend it to anyone with a few folks and a few pets that they book this property. 10/10 - would recommend and do it again!

Wonderful cabin in the woods!
This was a perfect weekend getaway for us and our teenagers. We grilled out and had a campfire both nights. We loved the log cabin, and the entire area is absolutely stunning every season of the year! Carrie made us feel welcome and the process easy.

What a lovely place! The pool was perfect and Carrie was one of the best owner's I have ever dealt with and we have renting from VRBO for the past 19 years!!! Highly recommend this property.

Cozy Ski Chalet
We had a great time at this property - it’s location to Hunter Mountain was perfect for our ski weekend. Carrie is a phenomenal and helpful host. She was quick to answer every question and extremely easy to talk to over Vrbo. The atmosphere is very cozy and the pool adds a really fun aspect. Thanks again, Carrie!

We had an amazing weekend. The area is beautiful. The cabin was everything we hoped it would be.
Checking in was a breeze. The cabin is wonderful along with the property it sits on. We spent hours playing in the creek that is a stones throw from the cabin. We will definitely rebook for next year.

Great weekend with family
The pool was cool, but the creek was running, and we did some good exploring! Classic cabin, unfortunately the internet was good, so everyone else had just as good of a time as I did.

Perfect family vacation!
This cabin exceeded expectations! Beautiful, clean cabin in the perfect location. We were on a family snowboarding vacation and were very close to Hunter Mountain. Check in was effortless and we found the cabin very clean and the owner was very responsive throughout the whole process. The indoor pool was a great bonus! Would definitely recommend and will definitely return!

It was a great cabin and we enjoyed all the nature around it!
It was a cozy cabin and we enjoyed the nature around it. I was dissapointed that we were unable to use the pool because the water was foggy and so cold. I had called ahead of time to make sure the pool would be in full working condition, but upon our arrival it was foggy and very cold. We were never able to get the heat to work. We called the person that was suppose to help us resolve any pool issues but he called us back towards the end of our stay. My kids we so bummed and sad!! We got a small refund back from the owner but I was still upset because this was a huge reason we booked the cabin, and I had made a call about 4 -5 days before to confirm the pool would be good to use. I was told it would be. Other than the pool issues it was a nice place to relax.

Wooded retreat
The Mannix Chalet (log cabin design) is fairly secluded from other houses on the mountain. Because it is uphill on a dirt/gravel road, having good tires or 4-wheel drive is helpful. The cabin is well appointed with comfy sofas in the great room, an enclosed fireplace, adequate cooking & dining equipment, plates & utensils. (Don't expect to find any left-over food or condiments from previous renters). Bring food with you because grocery shopping is not particularly close by (Tannersville is your best bet). And bring your own garbage bags. Not very suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The staircases up to the loft and down to the bedroom & pool level are very steep. You can go out the main level door, down a short hill and go through the ground-level door. There is a nice porch where you can sit and look out at mountains. The setting in the woods with a walk to a stream is lovely. (If you are bringing dogs, make sure you do a tick check!) Double check that the pool is useable. It was being treated two days of our stay so we couldn't use it. The cabin was spotless, but there was a bit of stray paper & a couple bottles & a few other trash items outside, a little ways from the cabin. We were 3 adults, so having 3 separate sleeping rooms was perfect. And our dogs liked the cabin also.

Amazing city getaway
Before I review--I want to preface that if you are someone who prefers fancy hotels and are high-maintenance this might not be the place for you. My group was looking for a nature getaway from the city and after reading the reviews we managed our expectations as far as amenities go. This is a secluded cabin located in the middle of nowhere, which we loved. The cabin was rustic and absolutely beautiful. Having coffee on the balcony with a view of the woods and the mountain was my favorite part. The place was very clean but it was a little inconvenient that we had to our own bring sheets, towels, soap, toilet paper and paper towels (make sure you bring all of this). The pool was great to have, there was a heater in there so it was a comfortable temperature for the fall/winter. It was super spacious and there was fire put/bbq for outdoor entertainment. The entrance was unpaved. It wasn't too much of an issue but I could see how this could be tough in the winter time if you don't have the right car. The stairs are very steep so be mindful of this if you plan to bring kids. The location was near a lot of beautiful hikes and a cute town where you could grab a bite to eat. Finally, make sure you bring plenty of bottled water because the water smelled eggy so we avoided brushing our teeth with it. Carrie was very responsive and super friendly/helpful when answering my questions. We had an amazing time and would definitely come back!

Nice very rustic cabin.
Out of the way, really rustic stay. Very cool if you're into that. Wish the pool was warmer. It was freezing everywhere except the one jet. Couldn't figure out how to get it warmer. Having to bring bedding, toiletries and towels with for that price also a bit much in my honest opinion. I guess because there is no washer/dryer for them to use. Which means the blankets there are probably neglected as well. So bring your own of those too. But the place is out of the way and pretty cool. Ohhhhhh and there were also no trash bags in the cabin. I found just one in the bin outside, so bring your own and don't leave a mess behind.

Beautiful stay!
Property was as described, secluded, clean and cozy. Homeowner was super helpful when there was an issue with the pool and resolved the issue. The children loved the pool and creek on property. The house was clean and tastefully decorated. We had a beautiful stay!! I want to note a few points that might be helpful to future renters: The house is located up a steep unpaved road. Thankfully we recently got an all wheel drive vehicle so we made it up without a problem. Secondly, different than the listing the house has 4 beds - all of them queen sized. Third, there were some ants in the house and bug spray was useful to get rid of them. Altogether, we had a beautiful stay and would definitely come back again!

Great log cabin
My husband and 5 year old and I had a wonderful time in this log cabin. This is a tough crowd to please and yet we loved it. The log cabin is set in the mountains in a nice secluded area. It was very quaint and had the basics needed to enjoy. The local area offered a lot of great hiking, lakes, and activities. We stumbled upon an antique car show which was very cool, hiked down a water fall, went to south lake, bought some antiques, and scored tickets to ride the rail. I would definitely go back. I felt this cabin was a good value too. We didn’t use the pool so don’t have much to say on that front as we were out and about mostly. My main suggestions which would’ve probably changed my score to a 5 is to purchase comfortable outdoor seating so we could lounge outside for longer periods of time and read a book. Perhaps even a hammock or those adriondack chairs. Thank you for letting us rent your lovely home.

Nice location but overpriced
Pool was broken, owner didn't let me know until a couple days before our stay when I messaged her with a question is when she told me. She was gracious about it and offered a discount but at this point it was too late to find another place. Would have been nice to know sooner especially over a holiday weekend. Overall the cabin was clean and as advertised. The location was remote and private. Small things needed to be fixed (door handles were not great, vent above stove was broken, door on indoor fire place was coming off hinge). Also, the water smelled terrible- like rotten eggs. We did not use for brushing teeth or making coffee. Not sure what was causing the smell. We were also were only there 2 nights but if we had a longer stay would not have been great with this water!

Great getaway
The property was nice and secluded..a great place to getaway from the day to day craziness. We wasnt able to use the pool due to mecanical problems, which was a bit disapointing for all (especially the kids). The only negetive, but was forwarned was the well water , we were prepared for drinking and cookibg water but not nessarily prepared for what exactly well water entailed and the uniqe texture and odor. All in all that wouldnt deter me from renting this property again. Had a great time.

Beautiful location.
The location of the cabin is beautiful. The road up the mountain is unpaved (which we already knew from reading other reviews), the woods are nice with a pretty stream nearby. The cabin was just what we needed and it had pretty much everything. There is an egg smell to the water and when taking a shower it feels like you can't get the soap off. The downsides were that the night before our trip, I guess there was a problem with the propane line that heated the pool so we wouldn't be able to use it. The owner did offer to refund us and cancel our reservation, but since it was already the day before we settled in staying and getting a partial refund since the pool was the main reason for us choosing this place. The other thing that I wasn't expecting was that in her description there was a futton and when we got there it was outside by the trash. I wish she would of let us know since we are a family of 8 and we definitely counted on having that sleeping spot. I tried to get in contact with her during our stay and she never responded. There was no checking in or out instructions and the only key we found for the place didn't open the door to the cabin so we had to leave it unlocked which made me nervous. Honestly, I was mainly disappointed with the pool but we made the best of it.
