Gorgeous Home, Nature Lover's Delight in the Heart of the Berkshires

Our beautiful, spacious, comfortable, light filled contemporary home, set on 5 acres, is a nature lover’s delight, is being listed for the first time. This home is perfect for families or friends who want to share.

Conveniently located less than 10 minutes to Great Barrington, West Stockbridge and Stockbridge, the house is set back off the road with a driveway that winds through lush forest to open up to the sunny, private home site. The grounds are meticulously manicured, with gardens that have been featured in the book "Great Gardens of the Berkshires.” With extensive hiking trails right out the back door, our home is truly a nature lover's paradise. A koi pond in the back with running waterfall delights the senses.

Inside, the home is equally inviting, with 8 individually zoned A/C spaces. The first floor has an open kitchen befitting a gourmet chef with a 6 burner Viking Stove and extensive kitchen appliances. The dining and living areas are light-filled and spacious providing lots of room for meals or to relax with friends. A powder room, a TV room with a 65” smart tv, an office, and a laundry room complete the first floor. A full size pullout sofa bed is also available in the office/den/extra bedroom.

The second floor has 3 generous bedrooms, each with a full bathroom. The master bedroom is exceptionally large with skylights, cathedral ceiling, a large walk in closet and access to the second floor porch that overlooks the Koi Pond, waterfall and extensive gardens in the back of the house. The balcony library has an elliptical trainer that overlooks the living room. One of the bedrooms has a desktop computer available for your use.

Outside is a deck that wraps around 3 sides of the house giving you multiple angles to view the gardens. Outdoor dining is available in the front and back of the house with a grill for barbequing in the back. The 2 car attached garage is available for those renting a week or longer.

This house has been our home and a work of love for 28 years. We very much look forward to sharing it with you.

Mesmerizing Home/Property
Beautiful property with plenty of amenities. We felt welcomed and enjoyed all the artwork. We had a small issue with some housekeeping items but Steve was responsive and welcomed our feedback. Overall a great stay!

Very special place
Great weekend for four couples. We all had bedrooms and bathrooms, with many sitting and living areas as well. Beautiful outdoor patios as well, and nice walking path around the house. The owner was very responsive and the house very expansive. Tv available but also a dining area that doubled as a place to play games, with a sitting area for chatter also available. Made for a lovely weekend and an interest in returning.

Nice house, nice gardens - great area w/ easy access to Tanglewood
We stayed here for several nights over a holiday weekend. The house is quite nice, particularly with the grounds which serve as a large curated garden with large varieties of plants and walking paths. The house itself is also quite nice. Spacious and reasonably well laid out, and quiet. We slept very well and various amenities were as advertised including AC and a very nice soaking tub with nice views of the gardens. Kitchen was spacious and had a decent tool selection. The house was well kept, but does show an occasional sign of age as to be expected. The location is one prime benefit, within reach of services in various towns, as well as being central to a number of important tourist sites, including Tanglewood. The host was very available and receptive, one of the highlights. Met us on site with a nice tour when we arrived and made available to us should the need arise (which it didn't).

Beautiful Home
This is a beautiful house, well constructed, roomy and extremely comfortable, surrounded by gorgeous gardens and perfectly located to enjoy outdoor and cultural activities in the Berkshires. We felt at home right away. In addition, Steve was always immediately available to address any questions we had. Our stay was wonderful!!!

Gorgeous vacation spot!
From the moment I saw this VRBO house online, I was drawn in by the gorgeous gardens and landscaping surrounding the house, as well as the many large windows to view the outdoors from inside Stephen was a very gracious host, greeting us with a tour of the grounds and the house and leaving us an abundant bowl of fruit. a loaf of bread and fresh flowers. He encouraged us to feel welcome in every way and made himself available for any questions we may have. This was a family trip of seven people from three generations and there was plenty of room for us to have space to ourselves when needed. My 6 and 9 year old grandsons had fun both inside and out. There was room to play catch, beautiful trails with lots of fun sculptures, a swing, and a charming koi pond where they enjoyed counting the many frogs. Inside, the boys enjoyed playing the drum, piano, pool and pingpong as well as many other games that were available. We all loved the privacy and the location that was only a short drive to many attractions and activities. We had a wonderful week!

Excellent house, location, and host.
My wife, our 2 sons and their spouses, and I came to celebrate my wife’s birthday and to attend several events at Tanglewood. We have been to Tanglewood several times, as well as to Jacob’s Pillow and other performing arts venues. In addition, we all enjoy frequenting good restaurants. Our trip this year was the best that we have ever had, primarily due to the stay at Stephen and Diane’s house. The location of the house and it’s privacy was exactly what we had been searching for. We definitely will attempt to rent it again, the next time we come to Tanglewood.

Splendid
This house is a gem! The pictures were exactly how we found the house when we arrived. Steve met us there upon arrival and showed us how to work everything. He was always available if we needed anything. Huge windows and sliding doors in every room made us feel like we were sitting outside. We had total privacy – house surrounded by gorgeous trees and plantings. Location of the house is excellent. No more than 15 minutes to Lenox, Lee, Stockbridge, and Tanglewood. We’ve rented many houses in the area and this one is by far the most comfortable and inviting. We were three couples and one single adult and there was more than enough rooms and beautiful sitting areas for us to gather together or spend alone time. We will definitely be returning for our annual summer trip to the Berkshires!

Loved this house in West Stockbridge!
We had a wonderful two-week stay at this spacious and lovingly cared for house in a beautiful garden setting in West Stockbridge. The owners could not have been more attentive and quick to attend to any needs we had (e.g. providing a fresh propane tank for the BBQ.) I highly recommend this property and hope that we will have the chance to return.

A Wonderful Place for a Reunion! Just perfect!
After well over a year of being homebound due to Covid, our (vaccinated) party of three couples from three states were able to finally reunite in this beautiful home in an absolutely enchanting setting. Diana and Steve were the ultimate hosts, giving us a tour of their fabulous woodland garden, filled with flowering plants and shrubs and paths that took you on delightful short hikes. Their house is filled with stunning artwork and furniture, with lovely outdoor views wherever you looked. They were the ultimate hosts, leaving us some delicious treats, but more importantly, offering a perfect home in which to spend time with dear friends. Thank you, Diana and Steve, for the perfect getaway!

Beautiful House and Surroundings
Our family of four visited this property for three nights. The pictures on the website don't do it justice. It is a beautiful property nestled in surrounding forest. The layout of the home accentuates the feeling of closeness to nature. Highly recommended as a peaceful place to recharge batteries.

We loved our stay in West Stockbridge. The property was just beautiful, very private and welcoming. This house has been and is loved and it shows. Extremely comfortable - amazing beds, great sofas, reclining couch to watch tv, large bathrooms, spacious and easy to use kitchen. Outdoor wrap around deck was a fabulous place to barbecue or just enjoy the quiet. Lots of hidden gems in the garden. Great location- we hiked daily and discovered beautiful lakes close by. And our hosts were lovely and accessible. The photos do not do this house justice. It's very special.

Beautiful home in idyllic location
We had a fantastic week at Steve and Diana's beautiful home. The house was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable family getaway. In particular, our daughter loved the backyard swing and spent many hours there. The setting was parklike and truly something special. Steve and Diana went out of their way to show us around when we checked in. We highly recommend this property and would love to return.
