Summary:
Step back in time and experience the charm of yesteryear at The Old Cheese Factory, a beautifully restored home set on 14 acres of picturesque land on Hindmarsh Island. Originally built in 1900 as a working cheese factory, this unique property has been lovingly transformed into a tranquil retreat, offering a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort.
The Space:
Constructed in 1900, the once-working Cheese Factory has been reborn as a unique masterpiece. A labour of love for many years, it took a refined creative vision to fuse the original features with contemporary highlights and modern luxuries.
Situated on 14 acres of picturesque land, the gentle undulations with Coorong views, rustic olive groves and native re-wilded areas provide an inspiring opportunity for bird watching, exploring and golfing ( yes there is a golf practice area).
Industrial features, polished timber floors, exposed stone walls and whitewashed timber ceilings combine to make this showstopper something that will wow you from the moment you step foot inside.
The spectacular split-level open kitchen / dine / family area with cathedral ceilings and the original cheese churner attached to the wall is a striking feature and a tip of the hat to the Cheese Factory's history.
The beautifully appointed kitchen suitably country style yet still very modern with stone and timber benches, dishwasher, Belling oven and gas cooktop, offers all you will need for family entertaining.
Downstairs offers 2 bedrooms, one with King bed and direct access door from outside via a ramp, making it the wheelchair friendly room. The second bedroom downstairs offers 3 single beds.
The rear of the home has also been superbly finished, providing a delightful entrance where you can sit, relax and enjoy the countryside vista. A stunning modern wheelchair friendly bathroom and separate laundry are also incorporated into this area. A shower chair can be provided upon request.
Upstairs you'll enter the spacious master king suite, a private haven to relax and refresh. It includes a beautiful ensuite bathroom and walk in robe.
The rear vast stone terrace provides the perfect place to entertain and enjoy long lazy lunches with the lawns and old gum trees as your backdrop.
The studio rooms features a pool table, two large comfy couches and a tv. There is a deck area there too with lounge chairs for relaxing and enjoying the expansive view.
Whether you're relaxing in one of the multiple living areas or enjoying a meal in the inviting dining spaces, both inside and out, you'll find comfort and beauty at every turn.
