Peaceful Lakefront Serenity

Relax and enjoy the delights of western North Carolina in this 660 square-foot garage apartment with large deck on the main channel of Lake Hickory. Enjoy swimming, fishing, or just watching the blue heron, geese, and ducks from the dock. There are marinas in the area for boat rentals. (Feel free to dock the boat at our dock, if you do rent one). Relax as the sun reflects off the water. Visit the sights of western and Piedmont North Carolina.

Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Asheville, and the mountains are all within an easy drive. Enjoy shopping for furniture at the Hickory Furniture Mart or along US 321, gem mining in Hiddenite, races at the tracks in Hickory, Charlotte , or golfing at local courses.

The fully furnished kitchen, and tastefully decorated bedroom,bathroom and living room make this a wonderful place for a one- or two-week vacation or longer-term exploration of retirement possibilities. This quiet, peaceful location is just minutes from downtown Hickory and several nice restaurants
Retirees and soon to be retired -- this is a great location to check out possible retirement homes in western and northwestern North Carolina: Hickory, Asheville, Hendersonville, Boone, Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Greensboro areas are all close enough to scout out and still come 'home' each night. For extended stays in the off-season, call for special rates.

There are outdoor cats that live on the property. They are not allowed inside Lakefront Serenity.

There is one security camera located by the main house front door. This is beside Lakefront Serenity allowing viewing of the driveway, and the side of the garage. There are no cameras located up by the apartment entrance or private deck.

First get away
This was my and my husbands first out of state get away and it was absolutely amazing thanks to this location and host. Everything was easy from finding the place and getting settled to the Check out. The location is so relaxing and yet close to everything you could need. We look forward to staying again.

Peaceful and quiet
My wife and I were in Hickory for a long wedding weekend. We really enjoyed our stay and this was a great alternative to a hotel in town. Convenient location, great views and comfortable accommodation. Would absolutely recommend and stay again!

Hickory "hideaway"
This property is a perfect spot to stay while visiting friends & relatives in the Charlotte/Hickory area. Fay & Joe provide a spotless ADU which gives you privacy & a beautiful view off your deck to Hickory Lake. If you are looking for great scenery & a quiet retreat I highly recommend this property. We had a wonderful week stay & won't hesitate to stay with them again when we are in the Hickory area. Allan & Julie Paterson

Peaceful Getaway
Husband and I went for a quick getaway. Everything was clean and convenient. The cats were so sweet and nice company to have while you sat on the balcony and looked at the lake. Fishing was extremely relaxing as well. They had board games for the rainy night we had and the kitchen was well stocked. Loved it and would definitely try to go again.

Right on the lake with private deck area, great sunrise view. Nice decorating touches for Valentine's day and the owners were great about working with me to set up a surprise for my hubby.

Relaxing Time On Lake Hickory
We enjoyed our stay. It was close to what we were doing in Hickory. The deck was relaxing and the home was well equipped with everything we needed to cook in the kitchen. The owners had the lights on for us because we were arriving late. We appreciated that. Next time we’re in Hickory we will definitely stay here!

Serenity is just that!!!
Our stay was fantastic! Fay was very responsive to our emails prior to check in, house had everything we needed! As well as very nice fall decor 🍁🍁. Location is awesome, quiet and a beautiful lake, while your only 5 min to stores and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!! Thank you Fay

Lovely place!
The home was welcoming, comfortable and nicely appointed. Driving directions, check in and check out were simple and straightforward. The location was beautiful, we particularly enjoyed sitting on the dock by the water and listening to birdsong. The friendly kitty's welcomed us every time we came in and out and we're a wonderful perk. The hosts were wonderful and responsive and we recommend this property wholeheartedly.

Lovely Stay!
The owners were very nice and great at communication. The instructions for check-in and check-out were very clear. If we have the opportunity to stay here again, I am sure we will. We loved the lake view and the use of the kayak! There are several steps up to the apartment, so it would not be good for those who cannot do a lot of steps. For us, it was not a problem. The apartment was well-furnished and comfortable.

Flexible hosts in hickory
Our hosts kept the place pretty clean, included more amenities than expected. Super friendly and helpful with the chat through VRBO. Gave us a generously late check out when our travel plans took a turn for the worst and it looked like we might have COVID. The cats were delightful. Hepa filter was really appreciated so the apartment is like an allergen-free zone. (We are allergic to the cats despite loving to spend time with them) Kitchen was fairly clean and everything was well organized. No pests in the apartment. Only criticisms were that some of the dishes were dirty upon arriving, and that it was not clear to us by the listing that this is in fact an in-law apartment. The hosts were pleasant enough to where this wasn’t an issue at all.

We enjoyed our stay, it had been three years since we’d visited our old home in NC. The house a was a perfect location closely situated with the shopping and family destinations we had. The house was immaculate and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed a bit of fishing on the pier and my daughter caught 7 fishes! The area was quiet and peaceful, perfect to get away from busy life but close enough to amenities.

Lakefront Serenity Now!
Nice, cozy, comfy apartment in a quiet neighborhood. Fay & Joe were good hosts and answered any questions we had promptly. We really enjoyed relaxing on the upper deck overlooking the lake in the mornings and evenings, and lounging on the lake in our kayak. Our 4 year old granddaughter and 2 year old grandson enjoyed playing on the beach with the beach toys provided and riding around the lake in the pedal boat. Very nice relaxing stay, we'll definitely be back!
