Mountain Majesty Home is a Gorgeous Mountain Home in a lovely Alpine Setting located only 15 minutes from downtown Durango and a 5 minute drive to Hesperus Ski Area. Approximately 3,400 square feet of living area gives 12 adults plenty of room to have their own privacy. Wifi Network name is: NETGEAR37 Password is: oddbolt518
Trash: Empty trash in the biggest green bin outside. Combination is 0000.
Kennebec Restaurant, a fine dining gourmet cuisine, is only a 3 minute drive..
Mountain Majesty Home is perfectly located to take in some of the most magnificent, "in your face" views! This home sits in the foothills of La Plata Canyon. Professionally decorated with strategic ambience in mind. Check in and Check out is easy and secure.
There are 2 Master Suites one with a King Bed the other a Queen Bed.
The other bedrooms proximity to the living areas make the easily accessible. Each bedroom has 100% Cotton sheets and Blankets with no annoying polyester. Views from each Master Suite are of the Snow Capped La Plata Mountains. Parrot Peak, Kennebec Peak, Deadwood Canyon and Mount Baldy are all in your face views while lying in bed counting the stars....A Babbling Alpine Stream is just a 5 minute healthy walk away from Mountain Majesty. Go north on the road until you see the Stream:).
A finely appointed home with plenty of room for 12 Adults to comfortably enjoy. A very nice kitchen with a great dining room to entertain your guests while looking at the Panoramic Snow Capped Mountain Views!
Plenty of parking which includes a 2 car garage, and 5+ car outdoor parking area. There are 3 HDTV's located strategically throughout the house each with Direct TV and Tevo capabilities.
There are many Touring companies available in Durango where you can book Mountain Bike tours as well as Four Wheel Drive tours in the nearby La Plata Canyon.
Wifi throughout the house.
There are 2 deck where you can enjoy barbecue dinners in the Spring and Summer.
You are only a short 15 minute drive to historic Durango where you can experience fine dining in several restaurants including, The Palace, Ken and Sue's, Himalayan Indian cuisine, Tequila's Mexican Restaurant, Serious Texas Barbecue (2 Locations) and more! The Durango-Silverton train offers a very popular all day train trip to Silverton where you can enjoy lunch prior to returning back to Durango.
Mesa Verde National Park is only a 25 minute drive from Mountain Majesty Home. Telluride is a 1 hour and 45 minute drive. As you can see there is plenty to do and plenty of sites to see while centrally located at Mountain Majesty Home.
Bonus: Get ready for elk, deer and wild turkey sightings from the deck!! The San Juan National Forest borders the County Road just 1/4 mile up the road from the driveway. Owner also owns and has available VRBO #1647501 and VRBO #617449.

Christmas in Colorado
When we first saw the house I thought there’s no way it’s as big as it says in the description. I was so wrong!! My 3 grown children their spouses and my 4 grand children all fit comfortably. We had an amazing Christmas in this beautiful home!!

Lots of space, nice house, great view
Enjoyed our stay, house got very cold, thermostat was set to Celsius and seemed to take hours to warm up each morning but it did work. Nice house, comfortable furniture, lots of space for us. But we ran out of toilet paper, towels were in the dryer when we arrived and there weren’t enough of them. Wasn’t the most impressive trip but we would stay here again because of the space and I would just verify towels and toilet paper on the first day and communicate with manager right away before running out.

Thanksgiving in Durango
Loved the house and the location. Waking up to a view of snow capped mtns is hard to beat. We thoroughly enjoyed the narrow gauge train ride into the mtns and having the entire family in one house made for lots of time together. Would definitely come back.

Great Restful break
I have several matters I'd like to tell the owner, but it doesn't need to go into the review. Problems with house in Hesperus Ice Maker doesn't work; The thermostat in the upstairs bedroom doesn't work- it is blank. Perhaps it needs a new battery. In that same bedroom, the TV remote is missing, so cannot operate the TV in that room. The light under the microwave is not working. Light switch in the alcove as you enter the main master bedroom does not work. Light bulb on the lamp on the table of the small bedroom upstairs needs replacing.

Neat mountain escape
This is a great house for having multiple bedrooms in a fairly remote country setting. The back porch views were fantastic. The restaurant at the turnoff from the main road was truly a serendipity. The location halfway between Durango and Mancos was really nice, and convenient to Mesa Verde! The manual gate code entry was a little cumbersome at night, but added to security I suppose.

Gorgeous Views from a great house with just a few missing amenities
We had a great time with family at this house, but there were a few issues. It wasn't completely ready when we arrived after check in time. There were still towels in the dryer and the impression was they weren't done cleaning. Also, while the master suite is fantastic, there's no privacy in the bathroom as the glass door with no covering allows those on the deck to look right into the shower area. There were a number of bulbs out and broken light globes as well as bug filled globes in ceiling fans in the house. There was no coffee grinder as advertised, however the host offered to reimburse us if we bought and left one. The host was great, and the property very comfortably fit 6 adults, but more attention to cleaning and maintenance would make this a 5 star with no issues at all.

Great stay!
We chose this location because we wanted to explore Durango and Mesa Verde. It was perfect! The view is amazing and the house was comfy and had plenty of room to spread out. We’d recommend it for sure!

Unacceptable
Appeared abandoned. Outdated. Not properly maintained. Misled. When we booked, it included a fire pit and hot tub. Both had been removed. No TV in main living area. Property was overgrown. Deck was falling apart. Extremely disappointed.

Very convenient location to Durango. Nice location for a large group. Views are amazing. Large table where everyone can eat together. Well equipped kitchen. Fun short walk down the road to a little creek and you can hear it if you open the windows.

A great week in Colorado.
The 5 bedroom cabin inside was very nice and its location, and the views were spectacular. I do believe the outside could have stood a little more attention as far as being mowed and weed eated . A little manicuring of the outside of the grounds to look more inviting as customers arrive. What you see when you pull up is when you get that first impression. The description said there was a fire pit, and we’re planning on using it with the grand kids and found out they did not have one. I was told it was taken down to fire hazard and I understand that, but remove from description. It also mentioned a hot tub which was also no longer there. You could see of the back deck from the master bedroom where one once was, but was no longer there. There again do not say there is one when there is not. I’m not completely disappointed with the property. The inside of the residence was beautiful and we did enjoy our stay. I would only recommend the owners be completely honest in their descriptions. I would have rented even without the mentioned itemsbut was under the understanding they were there. All in all a very good trip.

Good time with family
Our expectations were not met. The exterior made it seemed abandoned. Every car who drove up thought they had the wrong place. The house was surface cleaned but needs deep cleaning. Some of the blankets were unwashed. We had a nice time and there were plenty of beds and baths, although the mattresses were I uncomfortable .

Great location and beautiful views
We had our annual family vacation at Mountain Majesty for a little over a week. There was 12 total people and this house was absolutely perfect. We had plenty of space to chill and come together. The views were absolutely breathtaking and we all spent so much time just taking it all in. We would definitely stay at Mountain Majesty again!

Great for large family
This was the perfect home for our large family. Everyone had their own space and we never felt on top of each other. The location was perfect with quick access to Durango and the San Juan National Forest. Quiet neighborhood.

Great house
We had a wonderful time. The house was easy to find, with the instructions provided. The house itself was beautiful and the greatest part of it was how warm it was. We stayed right when snow time came and we were very pleased with how warm it was. Overall everything was great. I would love to stay there again.

Polar express family trip
Easy check in. Secure site. Pretty setting. Quiet. We enjoyed stay and slept well. House has an odd layout. The Only main floor bathroom is in a suite. So we had to go to lower level for bathroom. Kitchen was nice and well stocked. Some cabinet doors are falling off hinges and upper cabinets are dusty but it was nicely stocked with spices, pots pans, coffee maker, etc. Fan over kitchen was very dirty so we did not try and run that. Heater will keep room about 65 when it’s very cold outside (normal in Colorado) But master bedroom heater would not quit so it was hot there. Could have been we just could not figure heating out! Water is shared at the house and must be conserved. We found water running when we arrived. We had plenty of water though. There is no hot tub and warm water is out when jacuzzi is half full. Windows are so dirty guests are writing and drawing on them. Bugs on window sills. Spiders encountered too. At least one blanket needed washing. Main surfaces were clean. Bathrooms clean. Sheets clean. Floors clean. humidifiers in bedrooms but they did not work. It is a pretty place, older home but nice to stay there. Would we go again? Yes. We are not super neat freaks. Oh we found under clothing in a drawer!

Loved the location to the mountain....house was very clean A bit different lay out as described on the website. Extra master is on main floor with the extra bedroom. Two bedrooms below with a bathroom. Then the wonderful HUGE master is an addition but it was GREAT...obviously we stayed there. Only downside, is the bathrooms. So if on main floor you would have to enter the other masters or go downstairs to use that. My family is very private so it worked out for us but I just want to say that if you have a huge group they would all be using the downstairs bathroom. Ron is a great host and everything was great. Tons of dishes, spices, etc. We left a lot for the next guest :-)
