The area: Western North Carolina is a beautiful region in the Appalachian Mountains known for its stunning landscapes, outdoor recreation opportunities, and charming small towns. The region boasts numerous state and national parks, including Nantahala National Park, the Fires Creek Wildlife Management Area, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, which provide endless opportunities for hiking, fishing, mountain lakes, waterfalls, rivers, and more. Hayesville is a small town, nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. It is home to many historic buildings and landmarks, including the Clay County Historical and Arts Council, which showcases the region's rich cultural heritage. Hayesville is located near the highest point in Georgia, Brasstown Bald, which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Another notable attraction in the area is Lake Chatuge, which spans the border between North Carolina and Georgia and is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and other activities on the water. The house is set in a beautiful meadow with sunset and sunrise views and is only minutes by car from downtown where you can dine at restaurants and breweries, enjoy outdoor festivities, and shop at local antique and gift shops that line the streets. A little further you will find golf courses and marinas with boat rentals for enjoying Lake Chatuge.
The space: House sits on a level 1-acre lot in the Tusquittee Valley with a flowing creek just steps away from the back porch. Open floorplan featuring a modern, freshly updated, and well-stocked kitchen with all the amenities of home. Main level of house includes a master suite with king bed and sizeable bathroom. Upstairs there are two additional bedrooms, a library nook, and one bathroom. One upstairs bedroom features a king bed and walk-in closet and the other a fun bunk room (bunk with trundle - 2 twin mattresses and 1 double mattress) for the kids or additional guests.
The "grandparents suite" is an elevated carriage house connected by covered walkway off the main house porch. It is a 1 queen bedroom/1 bath unit featuring high ceilings, warm wood finishes, and a place for respite from all the memories they are sure to be making. Features a living room with tv, couch, and seating. Kitchenette with table, coffee maker, full size stove, microwave, fridge, and full size sink. Bathroom with stand-up shower and double vanity. And their own thermostat!
House features a screened-in back porch with a level walk-out to your own creek with a firepit and beautiful views. The front of the house features a large and level grass yard that stays freshly mowed throughout the growing season with sunset views from the rocking chairs and a perfect spot for star gazing.
Other amenities on property include wifi, two flat-screen TVs, outdoor grill, AC and Heat, outdoor fireplace with wood provided, indoor fireplace with gas logs, hairdryer, basic soaps, and linens and towels provided.
Spend your vacation at this well-appointed property in Hayesville and enjoy endless views, cows grazing and turkeys trotting just across the creek, trout fishing, hiking, tubing, and the opportunity to do as much or as little as you'd like.

- As a courtesy to our neighbors, restrict outdoor noise after 10:00PM.
- Check-in after 3:00pm. Check-out is 10:00am. If additional time is needed, please arrange prior to your stay.
- Two covered parking spaces available. Additional parking on property.
- We welcome your canine companion. There is a $75 pet fee (non refundable) with a limit of two. Please note we have neighbors with dogs and your pooch is your responsibility. The yard is a nice open space but please keep your dog under your supervision at all times. Any damage caused is your responsibility.

- FOR KIDS: Cherokee Home Exhibit (downtown Hayesville), Alpaca Farm, Cleveland Zoo (drive-thru safari), Brasstown Bald, Planetarium at Young Harris College, Waterfalls - Fires Creek, Helton Creek, High Shoals, Water Island Park on Lake Chatuge, Helen, Ga (tubing, go-karts, Bavarian inspired town), Bell Mountain (also has a museum), SMM Farms (pick your own fruit farm).
- Chatuge Dam Trail, Jackrabbit Mountain Trail, Fires Creek, Beech Creek, Appalachian Trail access, and numerous other trails within several miles radius.
- Several vineyards including Crane Creek, Eagle Fork, and Hightower Creek located within several miles. Many additional options within a one-hour drive. Most with tasting rooms, tours, and live music.
- Whitewater rafting outfitters on the Nantahala River less than an hour away for family-friendly rapids.
- Enjoy pickleball year-round at Clay County Recreation Complex (4 miles away). Guest passes are $10/day. Also features weight and cardio rooms, an indoor full-size basketball court, and racquetball.
- Mountain Harbor Golf Club is 5 miles away. Brasstown Valley Golf Club is a 20-minute drive. Several options if you want to play a full 18.
- Chunky Gal Horse Stables is a 20-minute drive to enjoy some awesome trail riding.
- There are many little shops in Hayesville, Hiawassee, Young Harris, and other small towns in the area.
- Trout fishing on the Tusquittee just a couple minutes walk.
- For boat and kayak rentals on Lake Chatuge, check out Ridges Resort and Marina, Chatuge Cove, and Boundary Waters.
- Enjoy a local beer and BBQ sandwich on the patio of Laughing Dogs Brewing (just down the road). Other options are Nocturnal Brewing (downtown Hayesville), Hayesville Brew, and Hiawassee Brew. Friendly staff, great live music, and a fun way to meet other travelers in the area.
- For runners and walkers there is a perfect 4-mile loop right outside your door that follows the Hiwassee River going down Tusquittee Creek Rd. Easy to find the route on your map or running app.
- Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds is a 20-minute drive and hosts many events and concerts.
- Anderson Music Hall at the fairgrounds hosts some impressive musical performers! Check their calendar before your visit, you may be surprised.
- Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens at Lake Chatuge is a beautiful 33-acre garden. They host an acoustic sunset series that runs Spring to Fall.
- Take a one-hour drive down HWY 64 to Highlands, NC for an afternoon. Beautiful drive with scenery, stop offs, and waterfalls along the way.
- SMM Farms (just down the road) is a pick-your-own strawberry farm with other locally sourced items. Fun for kids!
- John C. Campbell Folk School is a 20-minute drive.
