"We wanted to feel like the locals so loved staying at the Bruner's cottage. The cottage was clean and light. Best sleep I've had in a while - bed was comfortable. The Bruners made sure we had everything we needed and were very accommodating (including fresh papaya picked by their son) and loved being greeted each day by Huckelberry. If we ever come back to Hawaii and need a place to stay, we are definitely booking this cottage. "

"The property is absolutely stunning, beautiful and private. Its location was perfect for us to explore the Hilo side of Hawaii and the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park area. We loved the peacefulness of the view from the guest house and koi pond. It was a great stay...even the coki frogs croaking at night helped make it a unique experience."

"We enjoyed the location - walk to a beach for sunrise and kayak in the evening on the river. It was an extremely peaceful setting. The room was comfortable and it was fantastic to have a kitchen with a nice size refrigerator. There was even free laundry on premise! Complimentary beach gear and kayak equipment were available. The grounds would have benefited from more watering and love. We look forward to a return visit."

"I've stayed in the Kailua are on previous trips to Hawaii and the location of this property is unbeatable if quick, easy access to the beach is what you want. The pros: location, well stocked beach toys and gear, pool. Communication with the owner was easy and they responded immediately. The Cons: Very tiny kitchen, living room and dining room. It's about 200 sq ft for all 3 rooms combined. All the bathrooms are upstairs so if you have lots of luggage, the spiral staircase becomes tedious to...

"We had a wonderful stay. Home was clean and in a great location. Many beach entry points up and down the street. So far this has been our favorite place to stay. Best part is walking down to one of the many beach entry points to watch the sun set. Lots of places to snorkel too. Loved our time on the Big Island. Lots to do just a drive away. David and Kim were wonderful. You’ll have to ask about Little Little and Radiant!"
