Mountain Mama is a professional vacation rental company in the Harpers Ferry area. This is not just a side-gig for us--this is our full-time job! Rest assured that you are in the hands of professionals and will receive unmatched service. We are on mission to help family and close friends spend unplugged time together creating memories they will treasure. Harpers Ferry is a still-hidden gem and we can't wait to share it with you!

If you want to explore, the Appalachian Trail is a couple miles away, historic Harpers Ferry is just a 20 min drive away, and Virginia wine country is just next door. WiFi is fast at 100 Mbps, so if you should have no trouble streaming or video conferencing, in case you need to work remotely.

This cabin is the first vacation home we bought in the Harpers Ferry area. It's the one that launched Mountain Mama Vacation Homes and it's still our first love! A true cozy cabin
I rented this cabin to have family time while celebrating our grandson’s 4th birthday. This place was exactly as described. Very clean, beds were very comfortable. All included amenities were more than enough. We enjoyed grilling, fishing, paddle boarding, the hot tub and family time. The neighborhood is very quiet and the neighbors were friendly. We loved the windows and views. The overall experience was amazing. We will definitely rent it out next year. It is truly a cozy cabin.

2 Day Stay
It was okay. The lake is pretty. Some suggestions are blinds or curtains needed throughout 1st floor due to no privacy. At night, everyone can see in except bedrooms. Dishwasher needs to be replaced. Mattress tends to cave in the middle with 2 people on bed. I would make sure you are back at the house before dark too because no street lights and various animals around, lots of curves on road.

Great stay
My family and I stayed at the cabin for my husband’s birthday. We had a great time. The cabin was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. You can’t beat the location and amenities. Owners were very thorough, informative and detailed which I appreciated.

Perfect Family Retreat
Our family of 5 had a fun and restful vacation at this beautiful lakeside cabin! We appreciated all the attention to detail…super easy check in and check out, incredibly helpful tips and suggestions through the online guestbook and a beautifully designed space that gave us the opportunity to unplug in a comfortable but simple setting. Our kids loved the loft space, found the perfect spot to read and enjoyed hours swimming, fishing and kayaking in the lake. We ventured to into Harper’s Ferry to explore the history of the area, take a hike and get some ice cream. We also took tubes down the river and ended that days adventure at the Harper’s Ferry Brewery. All in all it was a great time and we would love to come back!

Not what it looks like.
The cabin is nice, but there are issues. First of all it’s smaller than the pictures make it out to be. The cabin has 2 window units to cool it, one upstairs and one downstairs, upstairs works great the downstairs one done keep the bedrooms cool since it’s located in the living room, plus the ceiling fan in one downstairs bedroom is about to fly off the ceiling when you turn it on. When someone up stairs takes a shower it is extremely loud downstairs for some reason. And there is a strong sulfer oder in the water. The hot tub is old and didn’t look like the water had been changed in a long time, we didn’t even get in it because it looked and smelled gross. The pictures show a floating dock on the lake, there was no floating dock on the lake. All in all not what it seems. We have better luck renting vrbos from individuals and not a rental agency. It’s not worth the money!

What a view
The location is perfect.... quiet... remote... right on the lake! The accommodations were very nice. the beds were comfy & clean, the necessities were all available (ie: trash bags, soaps, paper goods, etc.... Your morning alarm clock is a whiper from the birds and maybe a "quack" or two! We will be back!

Great weekend getaway.
1 hr from DC. Beautiful private lake. The house is better than the pictures make it look. Slept 7 adults very comfortably. Could have done 8. Host is very professional.

Great Lake House!
Beautiful view of the lake, open windows, fireplace + heaters, and a clean working hot tub....what more can you ask for! Had all appliances we needed to make our own food. Everything was clean and well maintained. We'll be booking again in the future!

Great getaway.
My wife and I needed a week away from kids and in a calm environment. This worked great. Two towns nearby if you want to get out for a while, and a great cozy and private environment in the cabin. Would recommend.

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean, and the view was gorgeous. Everything worked well and was well-appointed. We had no issues other than missing batteries for the TV remote control, which we were able to solve fairly quickly. Would absolutely stay again!

Can't beat the view!
This house just might have the best view on this lake. The house is cozy and has extras/supplies that aren't usual when owned by a rental company--shampoo, conditioner, body wash dispensers in both showers, hand soap at the sinks, paper towels, tp, trash bags, etc. Communication was great! We had recommendations for updating some of the dishes and pots, but we had everything we needed to stay in and cook on our snowy day. If you love a view and staying on water this is the house for you.

7 adults stayed comfortably - great place, excellent communication from owner, spotlessly clean. Bonus - thought the loft would be more of a kid space - but 4 adults slept up there comfortably!! Dock/lake/bird watching- so relaxing!!

Great quiet location. There was activity on the lake but electric motors only so very enjoyable. The kids played in the sand for hours. The water is shallow with lots of little fish to watch. Saw crayfish, painted turtles, snapping turtles, egrets, and herons.

Fabulous Mountain Mama Cabin!
Our cabin stay was fabulous! The location is beautiful, right on a large lake. The cabin is very nice, with a really great hot tub! Very comfortable and cozy, with a woodstove. The accommodations are very convenient - the owner has thought of everything. We'll definitely be back!

There are not enough words to say how amazing this property is. This sweet little getaway for a couple, adults only or even families checks all the boxes. This rustic cabin paired with modern touches is a fantastic pick. It even smelled amazing. The owners were responsive and the experience was unforgettable!

Great Lake Property
My girlfriends and I needed to get away for a couple of days and this was the perfect place. It was cozy, beautiful and relaxing. It is equipped with everything you could need. Like a full kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, down to beach towels. You have everything you need. The property manager was excellent with communication and answered all our questions everytime I got in touch with him. My friends couldn’t stop thanking me for finding this place and have already asked me to book it again soon. Thank you Eddie for making our stay so pleasant. We will definitely be back.

Great Cozy Cabin by the Lake
Cabin was nice and clean. Check-in and out was entirely remote. Detailed information about cabin features and local restaurants is included in online cabin manual. Cabin and hot tub have a great view of the lake. Was a great place to stay and we are likely to return.

Everything was as advertised. Comfortable house, beautiful views from the dock, great hiking nearby. The property manager was very accessible. Highly recommend if you're looking to get away for a quiet weekend.
