Hampton River Retreat

Take a romantic getaway in a private, newly renovated tiny home on the river. Located just a short walk to Hampton River Park, guests can enjoy downtown Hampton's great selection of restaurants and bars or visit the white-sand beaches just a short drive away.
Rather stay home? Hang out on the patio fully equipped with an outdoor bar and TV. This one-bedroom house is surprisingly spacious— it sleeps up to four adults and two children and has all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay.

This getaway home is a labor of love hand-renovated by Hampton locals. It’s the perfect spot to wind down after a long day of exploring the Hampton area with its quiet yet convenient location. In addition to the bedroom, the home offers a pull-out sofa bed and loft space that offers additional room for families. You’ll enjoy temperature control, high-speed wifi, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a washer and dryer, as well as amenities like a clothing iron, hairdryer, and tea and coffee. Relax indoors and out with a spacious patio equipped with an outdoor bar, lounge furniture, and a TV. No
parties or events, or gatherings of any kind are allowed in the home.

Just right!
We were looking for something close the convention center. The tiny house was conveniently located and had a beautiful water view. Everything was perfect, wish there had been caffeinated coffee, but that was only a small inconvenience.

Not as quiet and private as we thought
Our stay was interrupted twice by the landscaper who cut the grass during evening hours at 7 pm while we tried to sit outside. I thought that was disrespectful and not quiet at all. Also, the outside cushions were invested by ants so we were not able to use them. Otherwise the tiny house was as advertised but I would not come back for a quiet weekend.

Nice and quiet
Ali and Stephanie were good hosts. They sent me the information way in advance about the property as well. It was a very quiet area and quaint as well. I liked that it is kind of central in between Newport News and Norfolk so plenty to do. The outdoor patio was nice even though it was a bit too chilly for us to hang out there. The water view was nice as well. Def would stay here again!

Best Tiny House Ever
The stay at this property was the second time for me and my husband. The host is awesome because I made a slight suggestion for a more accommodating stay for me and it was considered and done. The outdoor living area is the best feature. Last but not least the location is within a short distance to anywhere.

Great, updated tiny house!
Great house to stay at while in Hampton! House was comfortable for my family, enough space for 2 adults and 2 young teens. Location was central to many things we wanted to experience, the beaches, historic sights and more. Easy in and out to highways and shopping. The house also has a fantastic outside space, although it did get very warm during the day in August. The River setting was beautiful to wake up to every morning! Thank you for sharing your home with our family!

Nice and cozy, but not quite what we expected
We enjoyed staying here! It was nice and cozy for us. The view from the dock out back was beautiful. Sadly, the patio furniture was wet and slightly moldy, so we weren’t able to use it much. Also, we didn’t realize the house was in someone’s backyard. We never saw the people who were in the other house, but it was still a surprise to see we didn’t have the privacy we thought we did. We still very much enjoyed the stay, and the location to other places was great!

Lovely riverside retreat
We really enjoyed our stay, I wish it could have been longer! The tiny house was equipped with everything you could think of and was really quiet for being relatively close to a main road. The porch overlooking the water was great for relaxing.

The absolute best
Words cannot even describe the wonderful time that my wife and I had on this vacation. Ali was one of the best host ever and the house was everything and more that was described. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants a great time out of town. Without any question we will definitely be returning in the near future.
