Wescott 2 at Shadow Mountain Yacht Club, brought to you by Mountain Vacation Lodging, is a ground floor condo that offers immediate and direct access to the water. From your patio, only a large grassy lawn separates you from the shores of Shadow Mountain Lake. The condo itself features good quality furniture and tasteful mountain decor. The beds make this condo ideal for 2 couples, one couple plus kids or singles, or a mix. Please read on for more details.

The Location:
For a visit to Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park, it doesn't get much better than having a lakefront location. Bring your paddleboards, kayaks, or fishing rods. This location is also very close to the shops, restaurants, and activities of downtown Grand Lake. Downtown is just a half mile away, putting it within walking distance for most, a short bike (or snowmobile) ride for others, or a very short drive if it happens to rain or snow. The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is just a couple miles up the road. But.of course the best thing about this location is being on the water. Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake itself are connected by a canal, so you'll have direct access to both.

The Home:
This condo has an open layout that combines the living room, dining room, and kitchen into one large space. Open up the glass doors and your living area expands to the patio and grassy lawn. This is one of the best features of the place, so relax on the outdoor furniture, and enjoy the views of Shadow Mountain and the lake! Bedroom 1 also has direct access to the outdoors, a patio of its own, and views. This bedroom features a beautiful king size log frame bed. It also includes a bench, dresser, TV. Finally, there is a private ensuite bathroom that has been updated with a nice large vanity. Bedroom 2 includes a queen size bed as well as a Twin over Twin bunk bed. The second bathroom is immediately adjacent to Bedroom 2, but is accessed from the hallway, which will be helpful if anyone is making use of the sleeper sofa in the living room. The living room also has a smart HDTV and wood burning fireplace, making this a great place to relax after a long day. This condo includes a kitchen that is fully equipped and then some, to include spices, oils, and small appliances such as a blender, crockpot, tea kettle, and more. The dining table seats 6 comfortably plus there are bar seats at the kitchen bar and a high top for 4 on the patio.

Arrival, Accessibility, Layout and Parking:
Once you book, we're here to support you - before, during, and even after your stay. We will provide you with arrival instructions, and answer any specific questions you might have. Accessing this property does require some stairs. It's about one half a flight of stairs down, from the parking lot to the condo. The parking for the condo is an outdoor lot. The parking spaces are not assigned and available on a first come first served basis, but parking is plentiful in all but the very busiest weekends. Please note, trailers, campers, or RVs are generally prohibited, per HOA rules. If you will have more than 2 vehicles or a trailer, please contact us to discuss before booking. Roads which lead to and from this property are generally easy to navigate and well maintained. However, please note that your route to the area may include a mountain pass. When traveling during snow and winter weather conditions, 4 Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive and tires with good tread are recommended.

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. Please let us know if you have any concerns.
** Lengthy Rental Periods, Cancellation Policies, & Cleaning Fees - Long Term Rentals (28 nights or more) may be unacceptable under the standard cancellation policies listed online, which are designed to be only for short term rentals. Long Term Rentals must be discussed and approved prior to booking online. A long term rental / lease agreement may be required. A Security Deposit will be required for all long term rentals, and mid-stay cleaning(s) / inspection(s) may be required. The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. For guests who are booking a lengthy stay of more than one week, a mid stay-cleaning fee equal to the final cleaning fee may apply for the second week, third week, and so on. Unforgettable Stay!
Our stay on the ground floor was perfect for us having a toddler who always wanted to go outside and play with the bocce balls and bubbles in the yard. Conveniently located near everything we could possibly need or want to see. Everyone we met, whether local or visiting, were incredibly nice and welcoming. The condo was incredibly comfortable and extremely well equipped to host us. We would stay again in a heart beat!

Grand Lake Condo
Enjoyed three nights here. Property is very short drive to Grand Lake downtown. Condo on 1st floor with main patio directly facing a wide expanse of lawn and lake is very short walk away across the lawn. Condo was nicely outfitted with all the typically needed accommodations. Would be nice if had some more conventional seating options in living room (i.e. recliners, or comfort chairs with ottomans). Living room had large sectional couch which was comfortable to lay on but not very conducive for just sitting up. Overall, condo was a very clean and nice property and would stay again!
