Historic Home: Walking distance to historic square, beach, & hiking trail!


Heavenhill, built in the 1890s, is not your typical home away from home! Quirky and quiet yet so close to the square it is a perfect set up for a family, girls' weekend, or even for writers and journalists. Shelbie, an interior designer and historic preservationist, wanted to keep the historic integrity of the home yet make it comfortable for modern times.

The cottage boasts two bedrooms (Gallery Room: full Bed and Quilt Room: two twin beds) with two full bathrooms including a fully equipped kitchen, living room, and pantry/utility room with a washer and dryer. An old, enormous pecan tree shades the comfortable back porch stocked with quality rocking chairs and a patio with a picnic table. If you like to cook out…well there is also a grill for anyone to use!

The base prices is for double occupancy. Additional guests’ fee is $25/guest/night plus hotel tax. Please make sure to specify the correct number of guests for your visit. Children of all ages are considered an additional guest.

Heavenhill is in walking distance to Hewlett Park and the City Beach (seriously just MINUTES!). If you like antiquing, then you are in luck! Heavenhill & Witherspoon’s Antique Mall share backyards! Located just 3 blocks from the square, you can do almost everything by foot or bike! If you like to take long walks or ride your bike then you can hop on “The Moments in Time” hike and bike trail which is right in front of Hh!

I have exterior security cameras placed around the premises. I do not have any cameras inside the cottage.

Special!
This was the most charming home! Built in the 1890’s the integrity of the history was intact while still having all the modern conveniences. So warm and cozy with a special touch at every turn. So much love and attention in every little detail. The Christmas decorations just added to the charm. Will most definitely return to this special home!

Charming cozy home
The home was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Everything about the house was warm and inviting. It’s the kind of place you hate to leave and want to come back and stay again. Hospitality was wonderful and communication with the host was great. Shelbie did an amazing job with the house. I’m definitely glad we stayed. It was worth it. Thank you very much for everything.

This lovely quaint cottage was perfect for our trip. Every convenient to the Granbury Conference center. Host was great and promptly communicated and answered all questions. I would book again and recommend.

The property needs alot of work The charm of the place is how old it is, at the same time modernization is welcome in some areas. No dish washer. Really not much in the way of plates ect. The living room furnishings need alot of help. You certainly could have nice clean furniture to look old but isnt, not comfortable for lounging at all. The bathroom rugs have no backing and are very slippery. The lighting is not good. No cable tv. The double bed is too small for a couple. I dont like the cobwebs. And didnt care for the waterbugs. The house does not smell good at all, smells like an antique store, plug ins would be great. The decor is antique but not nice antiques. I would love to redo that place, it could be really great

Charming PERFECTION!!
We booked this for a weekend of visiting with family and seeing a show at Granbury Opera House. We booked it and it was PERFECT. Charming, adorably decorated and COZY. We fell in LOVE with the place and will DEFINITELY be back!!!

54th Wedding Anniversay Trip
Each year, My wife and I celebrate our Wedding Anniversary with a stay at a unique accommodation. We both enjoy Granbury, which prompted our search for a rental property there. We found HH on the VRBO site and made our reservations after viewing the information there. We enjoyed the quiet location coupled with the rustic preservation of the place. The back porch and rocking chairs were very peaceful especially as it rained every day of our visit. Our host provided precise and accurate information on locating and accessing our rental. All in all our choice did not disappoint. We would suggest an instruction sheet for the TV as we were puzzled for some time before stumbling through to get access to view movies. Nice stay for us!

Shelbie has thought of everything! Coffee and tea fixings, water bottles in the fridge, glasses chilling in the freezer for your beer. You can enjoy all of the above on on the back porch rocking chairs and enjoy the beautiful backyard view. Bathrooms were also well appointed and clean. The house is absolutely adorable. Great for a girls weekend. Location was perfect- just as advertised. I took Shelbie’s Granbury walking tour and learned all about the town’s history! Cannot say enough. Enjoy!

Sweet little getaway
My husband and I brought our one year old for a little getaway. Shelbie’s house is the perfect spot to step back in time and enjoy the beauty around you. It also is in a fantastic location for anything you have planned. We were able to walk everywhere and explore the area easily. Would highly recommend Shelbie’s place!

Nice and convenient to activities
Perfect weekend getaway walking distance to lake and park and the downtown area. Kitchen a bit small but sufficient for breakfast omelets and pancakes along with tacos for a stay at home dinner. Treats available on arrival, kids loved that, and the games and videos kept us entertained before bedtimes. Two baths and the distance between bedrooms is a plus as it provides a bit of privacy. And the antique shops and the edge of the property make for some interesting exploring. It was a perfect spot for us grandparents with two grandchildren, 9 and 6, in tow. Very quiet at night with nice walking and jogging trails at the edge of the property. We would stay there again.

Cutest Cottage
My husband, me, my sister and her husband met up for a weekend here. We loved it and had so much fun! We all love the cottage so much! This was my husband's and my second time to stay here.
