FAMOUS FOR OUR OUTDOOR TUB AND QUIET, SECLUDED OUTDOOR SPACES. Beautifully "modern-farmhouse" furnished rooms set amongst the trees. Just minutes from town, this secluded property is a modern retreat like no other. The Hideaway provides an intimate, charming and calming retreat for up to six people. The Hideaway is a piece of Lydia's Canyon history, the trees mature and majestic, and the update has all the modern conveniences you desire.

We are readily available and close by if you need anything. We will respect and honor your privacy as you make yourselves at home but are just a message or call away if you have questions or need help.

Lydia's Canyon is home to several families who farm and enjoy the country life. You will see fish ponds, wild turkeys, deer, and happy hikers enjoying the canyon road. Our area is top-rated for bird watching. Our "neighborhood" is welcoming and you will not find a more lovely people anywhere in the world than right here in Glendale.

Guests will have plenty of parking in our driveway and access to the full cabin, private outdoor tub, propane bbq on wrap-around deck, outdoor picnic area and fire pit.

We are honored to have the unique property that was originally farmed and homesteaded by my grandfather. We delight in sharing this beautiful canyon retreat with those looking for privacy, peace, and all the comforts of home.

Centrally located within the heart of Zion & Bryce country, the Hideaway is a hidden gem. Often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, dreamy and unique place you'll ever stay. What could be better than falling asleep amid the colorful Quakie Aspens and waking up to birds singing?

The Hideaway features a king master bedroom with private second tv, laundry facilities with supplies included, dining area with seating for six, living space with smart TV and satellite television service, full kitchen with new appliances, a loft space with four twin beds.

Grocery store just five miles south and several dining options within ten miles.

Stay in Glendale for great access to UTAH'S FAVORITE NATIONAL PARKS! Zion- 25 min south, Bryce Canyon- 45 min north, Grand Canyon- 120 min south. Lydia's Canyon is just north of Glendale on Highway 89 and centrally located between Zion and Bryce! There is also Best Friends Animal Sanctuary (20 min) and also so many backcountry places to see such as; the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park (20 min), Navajo Lake (30 min), Cedar Breaks (30 min), Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument (40 min), The Wave (60 min), White Pocket (90 min), Horseshoe Bend (90 min), PeekABoo Slot Canyon (20 min), Antelope Slot Canyon (90 min), and so much more!

The Hideaway has a wood burning stove that will burn you right out! Don't worry about staying warm if you are comfortable building a small romantic fire. Otherwise, you can rely on the heat/ac unit and the master has a wall heater. There is no smoking and no pets.

Heaven on Earth

What a wonderful place of respite and relaxation after spending days at Zion and Escalante! The cabin was perfect, and Betty was so welcoming and gracious. We would definitely stay again!

Cozy Cabin and Beautiful Nature

My family and I had a great time staying at the cabin and enjoyed the gorgeous views all around - 360 degree views. When we first arrived, entrace to the cabin was easy and I love a self-entry process. The cabin was clean and in great shape. We particularly booked it because it had that vintage vibe and we loved it. The wood fireplace came in to use, the mornings were chilly and so were the nights, so definitely recommend using it. We also enjoyed taking our coffee and breakfast out on the porch and lookking at the view, that was probably our favorite spot during the entire trip! We loved sleeping in the loft, because it was the warmest place and it allowed us to all talk late into the night and fall. Overall, it was a great experience. We had an issue, and the hosts/owners provided open communication and we were able to resolve the issue together. Highly recommended!

Clean and Private

This is a great place to stay for those looking to get away from the crowds. The house sits all by itself with no neighbors in sight. It was clean and well stocked with all the basics. The listing was mostly accurate except the bedroom TV had no device hooked to it during our stay. No TV, Roku, or Fire stick or anything. If that's important to you, be prepared to bring your our device, despite what the description states. Another annoyance was the lack of surfaces and drawers in the bedroom. There are no end tables, dressers, etc. meaning we had to live out of our suitcases for our 10 night stay. The biggest annoyance was the small shower with very low water pressure. We are not big people (tall but thin) and we barely had room to move in the shower. The water pressure in the rest of the house is fine, but is dismal in the shower. Thankfully, the outdoor tub functioned just fine and became my go-to after a long day on the trails. The above annoyances are pretty minor in the grand scheme of things and this house checked all the major boxes for us. Clean, well stocked, private, and access to major attractions. We only had to bring some food and did not have a need for anything else. Kitchen supplies and utensils, plenty of provided coffee to get us through the first few days, private porch to sit and relax, visits from wild turkeys and lots of chipmunks. This is a very good rental to explore Zion, Bryce, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Kanab, and many other places.

Yes, a Hideaway

A cute, cabin tucked away in a wooded valley. Has high-end finishes and appliances. Great location to birdwatch, view the stars, and as a base for visiting Bryce, Zion, and other natural resource sites. In June, cool enough at night to leave windows open and be almost too COLD at night. Would have loved to stay longer.

Perfect cozy getaway

The cabin was perfect for our family of 4 (kids 11 and 15). The loft for them perfectly. The master bedroom was super comfortable with everything we needed. The laundry option came in very handy. The living area and kitchen had everything we could think that we needed. We loved the details in finishing...iron railings and wood front porch, iron staircase to the loft, the vintage kitchen cabinets, all lovely. The bathroom was small but had all the linens we would ever need, towel hooks to keep things organized...etc. out back there is a cute fire pit (we didn’t use) and picnic table we enjoyed dinner on. The location was great for us as we planned on UTV tour in Kanab and visiting Bryce and Zion. Great central location to all. When they say cozy, private retreat, they are not kidding. You are smack dab set on a mountainside, but with easy access. We were more than thrilled with it all! Thank you!

Beautiful Cabin

The Hideaway was a great place to stay. It was wonderful that the location was in between Zion and Bryce Canyon. The place was nice, clean and all the amenities that you need were provided for you. We enjoyed that the cabin was very secluded from everything else and the surrounding area was beautiful! Definitely looking forward to staying again!

Just Beautiful

Location and time of year were perfect. Nice to be off the beaten path. Secluded enough to enjoy the outdoor bath in private. The place looked stunning. All basic amenities were provided for you. I would recommend for couples and families. Definitely will be back.

We had a wonderful time. The property was spotless and wonderfully decorated. Sitting on the porch after a day of hiking was exactly what we needed. The location was perfect for splitting time between Zion and Bryce.

A Perfect Cabin!

We wanted to visit both Zion and Bryce. This cabin was the perfect in between! We were so happy to feel “off the grid” and had everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked relative to supplies. In addition to K-cups, the property has bath soap and laundry detergent tabs, but not shampoo and conditioner, so you’ll need to pack these. The grill was great and we were happy for dry wood to build fires in the pit. This cabin definitely had our entire family daydreaming about a cabin of our own!!

Quaint cottage in the hills

We enjoyed our brief stay at Betty's property. It was perfect for my husband and I. We spent all day in Zion and were glad to have a place to wash our clothes and relax afterwards. Betty was extremely easy to communicate with via phone or e-mail. My only suggestion is rewriting the directions to get to the property. The current instructions on the VRBO app are very confusing. You don't come to the "end of the road," you actually just turn off of it eventually toward the property. And you feel like you are really lost at points. I was very thankful we weren't trying to find it in the dark. To further confuse people, there is a huge iron-sign entrance to "Lydia's Canyon" (not the road you want) right before "Lydia's Canyon Road" (the road you do want). Again, more clear, turn by turn instructions are needed to find this property, especially when GPS and phone service are very limited. Thanks for taking that into consideration. Otherwise, wonderful property that is very private and cozy!!

We loved the location Only an hour from Bryce and Zion. Had a very difficult time locating the house. House is cozy and comfortable. Bathroom very small and could be difficult if more than 2 people staying here.

Awesome Cabin!

We absolutely loved our time here. This cabin is spectacular and you are right in the heart of Kanab with Zion, Bryce and Coral Pink Sand Dunes at your fingertips. My son even heard an owl every night while out for a walk!

Perfect getaway!!

The Hideaway was the perfect getaway for our trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon! It was such a cozy place to come back to after our long days out exploring. We had everything we could’ve needed and loved how secluded this property was!! So much more enjoyable than staying in a hotel!!! Would come back over and over!

Exactly as advertised. Perfect location to see all that Southern Utah has to offer.

I was looking for a place that had character, space and charm located near both Zion and Bryce Canyon. This was perfect. The wood burning stove took the edge of the chill, it was quiet and nicely updated. Ideal for two but would work for 4 using the loft twin beds. Thank you.

Great Location for Bryce and Zion!

Perfect location when traveling between parks. LOVED soaking in the outdoor tub under the stars after a day of hiking! Very cozy for the two of us, bed is very comfy and outdoor space is great! It was very nice to have amazon to watch a movie at night. It is secluded- no amenities at all in Glendale so get what you need and enjoy!

Perfect for Viewing Fall Colors

My family of three enjoyed staying at this lovely cabin. It was interesting to see all the details the Chamberlains put into the property (we looked through the album with the "before" pictures - wow!), especially how well they meshed vintage with modern. The yellows and reds of the aspen and maple trees outside of the huge windows were beautiful. The cabin is cozy, clean, and a place we looked forward to coming back to after spending the day hiking and exploring. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Gemütliches Haus am Waldrand

Wir haben uns in diesem hübschen Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Einrichtung ist aus antiken und neuen Teilen kombiniert und sehr urig. Es liegt ruhig,ist aber dennoch gut erreichbar. Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Die Lage zum Zion NP und Bryce Canyon ist optimal. Wir können das Haus sehr empfehlen.

Beautiful setting

I loved our stay. It was quiet and peaceful both day and night. We would leave the 90 plus degree areas and it was always 10 degrees cooler. We sat on the porch nightly and also never had to turn on the air conditioner as it was shaded and also cooled down perfectly at night. We would recommend this for two people, or a larger group with the 4 extra beds upstairs. The owner even dropped off a requested item we were missing. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful place.
