Tell your friends you're staying at the Valley of the Moon Estate, and they may just picture this two-bedroom plus extra bonus space for gathering, two-and-a-half-bath adobe retreat amid acres of vineyards. Perched in the Mayacamas Range close to historic Glen Ellen, this beautifully furnished Mediterranean-style home features lush gardens, a private pool, and extra bonus space for gathering.
This property is both pure California and designer chic, with tasteful contemporary decor throughout. The formal living room is a stylish space to sit and enjoy a book. Relax with a tasty snack in an informal dining area with minimal decor, a comfortable padded bench, and a table that seats six. Enjoy larger group meals in the formal dining area with seating for eight. French doors from this room lead to the back patio and pool.
Avid cooks will appreciate the modern, well-appointed kitchen with granite countertops, a gas range, and a Wolf convection oven.
You'll find the same modern design sense in the bedrooms. The primary (with a king bed and remote to adjust head and foot areas!) features a cozy reading area, a 47-inch TV, and opens right onto the pool - midnight swim, anyone? The bedroom's contemporary en suite has a double concrete vanity, a large tub, and a standing shower.
The bright yet modern second bedroom has two twins and is perfect for kids of all ages, while the third bedroom has a full sofa bed.
You'll love unwinding in the lush gardens and pool area. This fabulous outdoor space has seating for 10, a Sedona gas grill, and an inviting lap pool. The pool is not heated from October to May. It is solar-heated during the summer months when the weather is hot enough.
For a change of pace, head over to the garage for a game of Ping-Pong or an impromptu basketball tournament.
Nestled in the picturesque Mayacamas Range, you'll have excellent views of wine country. During the summer, grape harvest season may fall during your stay. When you feel like heading into town, historic downtown Glen Ellen is a 16-minute drive.
Enjoy many fine eateries and shopping, or bike through the beautiful Sonoma Valley.
Feel like immersing yourself in the region's famous wine culture? Book an organized wine tour or stop by one of the many wineries in the area. Kunde Family Winery, St. Francis Winery, and Matanzas Creek are nearby.
