Lake Cabin in Gaylord MI. Minutes from the snowmobile trail!

Large 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom cabin, steps from beautiful Heart Lake in northern Michigan. Sparkling deep lake in a gorgeous wooded setting allows you to relax while enjoying water sports, fishing, working from home or reading a book. All sports lake: fishing, boating, skiing, paddleboards and kayaks all allowed on the lake. Lake has no wake from 6:30 pm until 10:00 am allowing for quiet evenings and mornings on the deck.

Hike, bike, ORV or snowmobile right from the front door!

A 30 to 60 minute drive will have you in Mackinac City, Boyne Mountain, Traverse City or some other great destination locations!

For winter, the cottage is just 100 yards from one of the main snowmobile trails that connect with hundreds of miles of other trails. Nearby Treetops has downhill skiing and the cottage is close to the Otsego Ski Club. With some of the best snowfall in Michigan, Otsego County is in the heart of all of the winter activities including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding.

The house includes 2 two-car garages -- one attached and one detached -- so you can leave your recreational toys if you rent more than a week or a month allowing you to travel back and forth downstate. Snowmobiles will be allowed in the detached garage only

The house includes a large master bedroom with a king bed and large private bath, the second bedroom is over the garage and includes a king bed plus an open area with a double bed and a sitting area and a private bath, third bedroom with a double bed off the living area, the fourth bedroom is a loft with three single beds and a queen bed. There is a third bath off the living area. The living/dining area is open with a vaulted ceiling and windows that look out on the lake. Total the house sleeps 13

Thanksgiving Getaway
We cooked a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and this house had a wonderful kitchen with everything we needed. Great place to sstay. We would definitely come back!

Beautiful weekend
The property had everything we needed, the owner even left us some firewood which we made good use of. The beach is very nice and maintained; my husband caught a couple of bass off of the dock. Loved seeing/hearing the pair of loons that are on the lake. For anyone with kids, there’s a county park just a short walk from the house that has a lot to do- including a swing glider which even the adults loved. We hope to be able to come back next year.

Annual Family Vacation
This is the 3rd year we’ve rented this house for our family vacation. The kids enjoyed the lake and the swim platform and our daughter’s boyfriend brought his boat and he caught lots of fish. The house is plenty big and we love sitting on the back deck enjoying our morning coffee. We’ve already booked the house for next year!

Great Time Once Again
This is the second year we've stayed at the property. House is great for a family. We have seven adults and two kids and there's room for a couple more. Kids spent many hours swimming in the lake. We're still figuring out the fishing but there's potential. We've already booked for next year.

Perfect for 11
We had a great time at this property! Our 5 year old begged us to stay longer and said he wanted to live there. That being said, the kitchen was sufficiently stocked, the bathrooms (3 full) were all clean and stocked, the living spaces had great furniture, the deck was great for relaxing and our 2 families loved using the kayaks. The swim area was nice, and lots of shade to sit and watch kids play. We had 4 adults and 7 children from 5-14 years old. We cooked almost all of our meals there and used the grill. Downtown gaylord is 15 min away with aldi family fare and walmart. We spent an afternoon at Otsego Lake State Park as well. The loft got a little warm but there were fans to use. It did not get above 88 while we were there and it was 60 overnight. We would definitely stay here again!

What fun!
Our family of 6 had a great time at the house. We had plenty of room for all with adequate privacy. A game table and a dining table. A gazebo on the lake. Great little beach and play area. Only complaint is that the carpet really needs a good cleaning or replacing. Everything else was good.

Awesome house and location!!
Went with a group of friends for a golf trip. Location was awesome, lots of room in the house and on the property. Outdoor space is amazing! Would definitely stay here again! Don't be hesitant to book this place if its available

Great Stay
This house was perfect for our family. We came to snowmobile and ski, but due to the lack of snow we were only able to ski. This house was about 30 minutes from Boyne Mountain. The house was clean and stocked very well with all of the necessities, plus some. Although we came for the winter we also believe it would be a great place to come back to during the summer. It was easy to check in and check out of. We had absolutely no issues so we never had to contact anyone. Thank You for the use of your property, our family had a great time all together!!

Family Vacay
This is the 2nd year we have stayed in this house. The new owner did some awesome updates and it shows!! Loved the painted kitchen cupboards, the area above the garage was totally redone, and the addition of the gazebo by the water and kayaks were great! Our daughter’s boyfriend brought his bass fishing boat and everyone enjoyed going out and trying their luck! They even caught some bass right off the sock! All the kids tried the kayaks and we had fires every night! The house is roomy enough for a family of 8 and a new baby! The lake was quiet and we enjoyed listening to the loons. We have already booked it for next year!!

Yearly family trip
We come up to Heart Lake every year for the last 10 years. This is our second year of stay in this cabin and we love it! It’s perfect for mine and my sisters family and the updates are great! Wish we could stay here next year but some of the dates are booked already… only suggestion would be that like other VRBO properties give yearly returners a chance to rebook before opening up the dates cause we would have loved to book this house again next year we love it so much!

Fantastic Property
The house is great and the amenities were more than expected. There is a grill, kayaks, outdoor seating plus a screened seating area and table, hammock, fire pit, sandy beach, and dock. The kids had a blast and everyone spoke highly of the rental. We take an annual family trip and everyone agreed this was one of our favorite houses.

Best cabin on the lake for a large family Up North!
This cabin is one of the nicest ones I’ve ever stayed in! With its beautiful knotty pine interior to the extra large master suite it was perfect ! Lots of pots, pans and extra towels to use. We enjoyed beautiful views of Heart Lake and cozy campfires. My husband caught several small and large mouth bass fish right on the end of the dock. It slept our family of 9 very comfortably. The town of Gaylord is fun too with 2 breweries, a few nice shops and a great Mexican restaurant as well. I would highly recommend this cabin for a large family !

Our Vacation Place
This is our second time staying at this home and we'll return again next year. There were eight of us and with four bedrooms and three bathrooms we had plenty of room. It's in a beautiful wooded area overlooking the lake and is on a large lot so there is room for outside games also. This year the owners also supplied kayaks and a gazebo by the shore. This has the space and amenities of a house but the looks and feeling of a cottage. You can't go wrong with this one!

Great overall but construction on-going w hazard.
Overall great property lots of kitchen utensils, pots, pans etc. Master Suite was great very large and accomodating. The upstairs loft "bedroom" had 2 beds tucked way under the ceiling not appropriate for anyone but kids. Was very cold up there at night as well (winter rental). Bunch of lights missing bulbs room above garage. Also construction debries and tools left where supposed to park in garage, ladder left on a bedroom, wall art etc sitting on mastwr couch along w box of something that needs assembled. Lastly master bath ceiling fan light assembly was sitting on the counter not installed and a light fixture had exposed wires not attached. Overall worked because we had a group of guys for a snowmobiling trip but if I had my family or kids would be totally unacceptable. I did contact owner and sounds like his contractor told him it was ready when it in fact wasn't. I think he is being honest but in the end it falls on him to ensure it was ready. After he did apologize but again wasn't as expected.

Cozy cabin, great location
Nice cozy cabin. We had 8 people and there was plenty of room. Close to the snowmobile trails even though we couldn’t use them due to lack of snow and close to Gaylord. The owner was very responsive with any questions that we had. Definitely would stay here again.

We had 11 people staying at this house and it never felt crowded. The snowmobile trails were very close to the house. We were able to drive the snowmobiles to the trail.
