Nestled in the Smoky Mountains, Golden Bear Lodge is a spacious 3 bedroom/ 3 bath cabin located just a short drive to downtown Gatlinburg, Ober Mountain and the Smoky Mountain National Park. Perfect getaway for families!

* 3 bed/3 bath w/ size full futon in game room
* Mountain & City views

* Game room with pool table, darts, foosball, board games and smart TV
* Access to 3 community pools (open seasonally)

Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck surrounded by tree tops and a beautiful view into Gatlinburg. Watch the Aerial tram go by and at night see all the twinkling city lights, including the skybridge when it is lit up! Unwind by taking a dip in our private hot tub or enjoy a game of pool in the game room.

Located in beautiful Chalet Village, guests have seasonal access to 3 outdoor pools and club houses (Pools are open from Memorial weekend to Labor Day Weekend).

PLEASE MESSAGE US before booking more than 6 adults!! We want to make sure our house will work for you and everyone will be comfortable!

We also have a full size pull out futon located in the downstairs game and family room if needed.

We provide a small “starter pack” of toiletries and paper products.

Our cabin is located in a well established development with paved roads. We have had no problem getting up to our cabin without 4 wheel drive, even in the winter with the occasional snow. However, these are mountain roads and they are narrow, winding and steep in places, so plan accordingly for your comfort level!

This cabin is in the woods, expect to see and hear critters! If you are lucky you may see bear families that often walk up our road!

We do not offer refunds for last minute cancellations! We highly recommend you purchase trip insurance.

Sorry, unfortunately NO PETS. If you bring in a pet of any kind you will be charged an additional fee and asked to leave!

NO PARTIES - This is a quiet family rental area. No guests except those on the reservation and no more than the max guests allowed.

Unfortunately we can rarely offer early check-in or late check-out! We have to respect our cleaners who work hard, are on a tight schedule and need time to clean our whole cabin!

Ok but could be much cleaner.
Coffee bar and beds were nice. Lots of cigarette butts and leaves at entryway. Hot tub was not cleaned before our visit. Leaves and debris in it everywhere and brown water. Property details said it would be emptied and refilled after each use. There is a rodent in the wall downstairs that disturbed our kids’ sleep and scared them in the early morning hours. They no longer slept downstairs the rest of our stay. We enjoyed foosball table and games. Lots of extra pillows and towels. There were dishwasher packs and detergent pods left for our use. Thank you!

Family vacay
This was our first time visiting the Gatlinburg/pigeon Forge area. This home was minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. It was very family friendly with games and activities provided while we were there. The beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of towels and washcloths for all of us. Communication was perfect. The checkout rules were very easy and didn’t require us to do much prior to leaving. We would stay here again.

Communication and Empathy in an Unprecedented Situation
My family actually did NOT stay in this cabin as intended. The host had been in contact with us since our reservation, answering my questions promptly and even agreeing to a slightly earlier check-in so our little ones could get a good nap. However, during the cleaning/inspection, an issue totally out of their control arose that would have ruined our experience and needed addressed right away at the expense of them not being able to honor our reservation. While some hosts might have clicked "cancel" and left us at the mercy of VRBO customer service, Mogen took steps above and beyond with so much empathy, to make sure our worry was minimized and we had the smoothest possible process to cancel and rebook our new emergency accommodations. Thanks in part to her help, we ended up unpacking at another cabin with all the same amenities within a couple of hours. I definitely wasted some time on hold with VRBO on the top of the SkyPark, but I don't even want to think about how much worse that would have been without her advocacy and quick communication. In summary, this place drew me in as a perfect place for young families, and this is the host you want to be calling if things go unexpectedly wrong for you and your young family!

CALI to Smokey Mountains
We started our trip on April 17-24th. Two days in Nashville then a beautiful drive to the Smokey Mountains. We had to have a bigger car due to wheel chair so the drive up the Mountain was a little nerve racking but my friend did a really good job at it. The house was very comfortable. The beds were comfortable. It was nice to have a jacuzzi. Walking out to the balcony and just sitting in the patio chairs and taking it all in was great. You could have a cocktail or in the morning it was nice to have coffee. Checking in and out was easy. Thank you so much and it was easy to get a hold of the host.

Perfect Family Getaway
We stayed for a long weekend and it was perfect. The hosts were very clear on directions on how to get there and how to get into the property. It was clean and well stocked with the essentials we would need and with directions of where to get additional supplies for the trip. Beautiful location!

Great Location!
Close enough to Gatlinburg’s main strip but tucked away up on the mountainside for privacy with a view. While we had no issues, the property owners were very communicative to ensure a positive experience! Highly recommend.

The house definitely met our needs. Our family enjoyed the jacuzzi and foos ball table. The home has everything you need including complimentary coffee pods. The only negative was the house smelled a bit like mildew and an older home that shows it’s dirt. Just not a brand new home if that bothers you. The view is nice from the garden, tub in the master bath, and the outside deck. The roads are a little dicey and you need to pay attention to oncoming traffic. All in all a good value for Gatlinburg.

Relaxing family escape
This was an excellent family vacation for us. The cabin was better than advertised. Remote, quiet, and peaceful but still close enough to all of the activities and sights. Owners were communicative, supportive, and even gracious enough to allow us to return after checkout when our children left an item behind. True to its name, we were even blessed to see multiple bears during our stay. Solo bear meandering through the bushes munching berries under the porch, and a momma followed by her 3 cubs went passing by another morning while we were preparing to depart for adventures. We’ll definitely look at staying here again on our next adventure into the Smokies.

A true Smoky Mountain cabin experience
We loved the location of this cabin! It is less than10 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg and 10-20 minutes from a good variety of trails in the Smoky Mountains. We had an amazing view of the mountains in the distance and the town below us. It was a VERY steep, winding road up to the cabin which was a bit intimidating at first, but we grew accustomed to it after a few drives. The owners were great with communication and addressing any issues and the cabin was true to pictures and the description. The only suggestion for improvement is for the cleaning service to complete a deep clean and mopping of the floors after each stay.

We enjoyed our stay overall. (+) The location on top of the mountain and the sunrise are amazing. (+) Our highlight was definitely to see brown bears , but be careful when you bring the trash to the trash can. The second we opened the trash can bears would be attracted. I would not recommend to grill at this location. The grill is in the drive way and bears would frequently stop by. (+) kitchen was well equipped A few negative things about this place (-) downstairs shower quite small (not meant for tall or heavy people. (Upstairs shower is fine) (-) basement has a strong odor. Smells like wet dog, we couldn’t sleep there with our baby. (-) basement could be a bit cleaner, for example dead flies/bugs on the window sill (-) mold on the shower curtain upstairs
