"We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. "The hotel was modern, clean, room spacious and decorated very nicely. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel very central and can walk to main sights. Only issue we had was being locked in at night - glass front doors tied together with a bike chain lock! Although security were outside, I feel this was a concern if there was a fire and felt uncomfortable with this. Otherwise would recommend"

"A very nice property although a bit run down, need of update including furnitures, we arrived late in the evening and found it very cold room we had to turn electric fire on and left it on right through the night, the food is average, no local shops near by, so you will need tuk tuk, staff are great, friendly and very helpful. "Hotel horrível. Pior hotel onde já estive. Num local onde está frio, a água quente era escassa, apenas durava pouco mais de um minuto e após reclamar mais de 2/3 vezes. O quarto era frio, gelado e sem qualquer suporte a ar condicionado ou aquecedor. Quando chegamos ao hotel deparamo-nos com crianças a gerir o hotel, não havendo qualquer adulto para nos receber. "The building looks lovely and the grounds are beautiful BUT the room wasn’t great , the bathroom had an old shower curtain and the shower was above the bath. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was small and dark. it was my birthday and there was no mention of this even though my husband had given advanced information. "Clean room with hot water. Lovely receptionist who welcomed us on arrival and helped us with booking a taxi to Kandy. Only slight negative was it was slightly noisy in the mornings with staff members walking the corridors chatting and prepping breakfast. All in all really lovely place in a great location. "

"Had a great stay here for 2 nights. The sheets were really lovely as were the pillows. Breakfast 2 fried eggs 2 sausages fruit platter and toast and jam, juice, water and tea or coffee."

"Disappointed that Expedia don't check the facilties claimed. There is no bar, despite the listing. As the hotel is some distance from town, it would have affected my decision to stay there. As everywhere in Sri-Lanka, the staff are friendly and helpful but the place feels a little tired and small things such as no bedside lighting are an inconvenience."
