Life's a Beach - Beachfront Home

Life's a Beach is a stunning two-story beachfront home located in Kahala Beach subdivision. Enjoy stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico from inside the home and from the large sun deck.

This spacious 3045 sqft home is perfect for large or extended families. Two separate living areas with extra sleeping gives you plenty of space for the whole family.

Beautiful updates throughout the home with a stylish coastal theme means you'll never forget that you're on vacation at the beach!

The large decks offer the perfect spot to watch the waves roll onto shore, enjoy your morning cup of coffee while watching our island famous sunrises or grab a cool beverage to work on your tan in the lounge chairs. The very spacious deck has three tables, ten Adirondack chairs, and four lounge chairs.

The beach is only steps away for endless hours of family fun in the sun. Enjoy a private dune walkover for easy beach access. When you've had enough sand between your toes, rinse off downstairs in the outdoor shower.

The shaded downstairs area is perfect for entertaining, relaxing in the swing or cooking out on the charcoal grill. Enjoy making memories with your family at Life's a Beach!

Ground Level: Parking for 4 vehicles; No Garage Access; Outdoor Shower w/ Hot and Cold water; Half Bath; Swing and Picnic tables.

Main Level: Large living room with Queen Sleeper Sofa; Kitchen and dining area; Shared bathroom off kitchen area; Master Bedroom suite has a King bed with deck access, TV, and en suite bathroom. Large uncovered deck with panoramic views of the beach, adirondack and lounge chairs with tables.

Second Level: Bedroom with a Pyramid Bunk (1 Full and 1 Twin) and a Regular Bunk (2 Twins) with TV and Blueray DVD player; Shared hallway Bathroom; Bedroom with a King and en suite Bathroom; Bedroom with a King and TV. Additional living room/den with large screen TV, Blueray player, and a Queen Sleeper Sofa.

Location: 14.3 mile drive to 61st Street; 17.4 mile drive to 25th & Strand; 13.5 miles to Moody Gardens/Schlitterbahn Waterpark.

Notes: This property rents by the week only in the summer months from Monday to Monday.

Although provided, WiFi access/Cable/Dish service can be unreliable here on the West End of Galveston Island. We apologize, but Gary Greene Vacation Rentals is unable to guarantee these amenities will be working during your stay and is unable to offer refunds for disruption of these services.

Incredible views
Enjoyed the view of the gulf and felt so close to it. Home is warm and cozy. Neighborhood is small and quiet. Kitchen is fully stocked. Beds were comfortable.

Nice home in a good neighborhood. You enter the house into a warm and musky room that had a very bad smell and crickets in the room. The next 2 floors were nice, except for roaches and dishes that were not the cleanest. The view and the patio were great. There were lots of notes with lots of house rules. Took some of the joy out of the vacation. Quite overboard on what was common sense. The advertised perks were not all accessible. The master fireplace had notes posted about being unusable. The biggest disappointment was notes saying not set the A/C below 71 degrees. We complied but were super uncomfortable every night. Six nights of NOT great sleep because of the room temperature. All of these things should have been voiced before we agreed to the terms of service and paid over 4k for 6 nights. Would never stay here again. Feel pretty duped about the advertising compared to the actual product.

Beautiful beachfront property with plenty of space for large families
Love this property! The views can’t be beat. Towels provided was appreciated as well as the washer and dryer. Outdoor shower is convenient and water hoses are everywhere to clean off all your gear. I think the first floor at ground level was recently flooded because the smell of mold is strong, but once you go up a level it’s much better.

Clean, great view and easy beach access
The property was as shown in photos, clean, well taken care of and has great views. We had a relaxing time despite the weather! Minor suggestions - there were no beach towels or beach toys. Also no hand soap for the bathrooms and only left enough soap for two loads of laundry and two loads of dishes. With 10 people for four nights it wasn’t enough.

Beautiful home with amazing views, steps from the beach
We brought our 16 year old son and friends to enjoy the beach for the weekend. This house was perfect for our trip. I used the kitchen quite a bit to cook breakfast and dinner. The layout of the rooms made it nice for the boys to sleep upstairs and hang out while we were sleeping downstairs. The views from the living room and master bedroom are amazing. We enjoyed watching the boys playing on the beach while sitting inside in the comforts of the living room. They played spike ball on the beach as well as frisbee and football. The deck was gorgeous and I enjoyed laying in a chair and reading a book to the sound of the ocean. It got a little windy so I enjoyed going inside to enjoy the views without the wind. There were 2 grocery stores within minutes of this place. It was beautifully decorated with electric shutters. The beds were comfortable. I’ve already looked at the summer schedule to see if we can come back to this place.

Galveston Summer Vacay
As advertised! The first thing you take in are the views of the beach and gulf from the huge bay windows and we were bought in. Very clean and more than enough room for our family. We felt like we had our own private beach with the private walkover bridge. The beach is 30 seconds away! Huge bedrooms & bathrooms w/ great amenities. Only about 25 minutes from Gaido's even during peak traffic! This is a great place for a good sized family getaway.

Very nice vacation home for a family.
Very lovely property. Clean and well stocked. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the deck. Large, but I wish I had noticed that there was no covered area. The sun is just too brutal in summer to have no protection at all. And the furniture is old and falling apart. 3 chairs split and the backs attached to arms gave way while sitting in them. Scary for my 83 year old father. Easy to fix, corrosion happens in the salty air. But they should be replaced before someone falls and gets hurt. Or consider reducing how many tables and chairs are on the deck so that you can see the ocean from the lounge chairs. All the tables block the view!!!!

Found our beach house!
We’ve stayed in this area of the island in several houses over the years but this house is a standout. We will definitely rent it again and my kids are planning on a time to bring their friends along because there is so much room. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen we’ve ever had in a rental. The main rooms have stunning unobstructed views of the water and the deck was a favorite early morning spot for all of us. The kids played board games (they have a huge selection to choose from) at the dining table while we were cooking and relaxing in the living room all while soaking in the amazing views. The hurricane shutters allowed the baby to nap peacefully in a totally dark bedroom in the middle of the day. There was nothing that was an issue in this house. We had a wonderful week.

Amazing family vacation
Ours was a multi-generational family reunion. The house is beautiful with multiple views of the ocean, private access to the beach, and great hospitality spaces in the house. We are already planning to return for our family gathering next year. Five stars all around.

Perfect location for family trip
We loved the house! Plenty of towels and clean sheets, more than enough dishes, and everything worked great. My in-laws are a bit older with bad knees, and the stairs were a little tough on them as they're kind of narrow with some weird angles, but we knew to expect that. We absolutely loved the beach - it was very quiet and peaceful, a little windy during our stay in early May but the weather was otherwise perfect. We did see a few Man-o-war's wash up that we had to be careful around as we had a 3-year-old and 10-month-old. The electric shutters on all the windows were so helpful to get the kids to nap and sleep well, and the outdoor hose was so helpful to get most of the sand off of us all! I do wish there had been a few more chairs we could take to the beach (there were two plastic Adirondack chairs, both unfortunately broken) and we had to buy a lot of other stuff that the house didn't have (beach towels/toys, lighters, toilet paper/paper towels, dish soap/laundry detergent, etc. since we flew out from Colorado) so chairs were not something we wanted to buy as well. A few more dish towels in the kitchen would have been great to have, and the refrigerator water dispenser doesn't work so it was either warm tap water or bottled water to drink. One thing that needed to be fixed was the screen in the upstairs hall bathroom - someone left the window open and I walked in to find my 3-year-old leaning way out of the window as the screen was completely shredded! She was just playing but still about gave me a heart attack. The house is probably not the best for toddlers or babies learning to crawl/walk - we had to buy a baby gate for the stairs as our little one is desperate to explore everything. The fireplace in the master bedroom really drew her attention, and without a grate covering the iron log holder/fake rocks it was a disaster waiting to happen - but that's pretty normal with all kids. Just some small safety things to consider. All in all, we loved our stay, and the location was perfect!

I went on a girls trip with my sister in laws and this place was perfect! We loved the deck with the lounge chairs and the view was the best and the house was so cute!!! Will definitely stay again and for sure recommend!
