Desert's Edge Fruita

Desert's Edge provides an authentic Fruita experience to all seeking an outdoor Colorado adventure. Fruita is known for its world-famous mountain biking trails, and Desert’s Edge is centrally located to all the action, but we hope to highlight more Fruita attractions for you to explore during your stay. This unique property is a 4 acre oasis on the edge of downtown Fruita and the North desert trails. The Little Salt Wash runs through the property and provides lots of shade and single track walking paths, all on private property for you to enjoy. It is perfect for walking dogs, sipping coffee or relaxing in the shade near the water. Ex-plore the niches around the wash which is designated as a wildlife corridor. There is a large locked shed for gear and bike storage including a bike stand and work bench near the parking. This area includes an all day shady fenced in dog yard with a dog house. The fire pit, staging area and general hanging out spot in near the shed as well. Parking is off the street be-hind a privacy fence. A big grassy private front yard and several sitting areas around the house are also provided. Explore, relax and enjoy your stay at this hidden oasis. I live on the property in the back (east) part of the house. Parking is available on the property for 2 cars. Downtown Fruita is only a short bike ride or walk away.

True Gem
This is such a wonderful property so close to downtown and a short drive to mountain bike trails and restaurants. Karen is a lovely host who was super quick with communication and ensured we had everything we needed. The property is full of space for hanging out, walking around and relaxing. We loved our two nights here and would highly recommend this as a place to stay!

Beautiful Place! Great overall experience~
Deserts Edge is an incredible stay. The photos - while good on the website - don’t do it justice. There is a well stocked kitchen (and a plus that its stocked with Karen’s beautiful pottery), lovely living space to sit in, super comfortable bed and big bathroom with a great shower. There is even a desk area to sit and work or write. The windows give access to garden views or front yard views with big trees. There was plenty of cool air going through the whole house to keep me so comfortable at night when days were hot. Karen welcomed me and was available anytime I needed something. It felt like I had my own home - yet I had access to the property manager within a few steps or phone call if needed. Karen has decorated and created the home like someone lives in it. It’s simple and warm, beautifully placed art and pottery, well crafted workmanship in the construction of the rooms. The home is walking distance to the downtown area but at the same time it’s on the edge of town where there is a bit more space and room. I highly recommend Desert’s Edge. I’m already sharing about it with friends.

Wonderful place!
I can’t say enough good things about Desert’s Edge. The property is lovely. The home is cozy, beautiful, and cool (it was HOT outside!). Karen is an outstanding host. The place had tons of local art that is available for purchase, which was awesome. Plus she provides tons of information about the community, trails, local stores (Lithic Bookstore was amazing!). I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Perfect stay!
My husband and our two dogs stayed overnight at the Desert’s Edge. We had a great night! Desert’s Edge is the perfect place to stay! It’s far enough away from town that it’s quiet, but close enough to a wide range of food options. There’s a great area for dogs that is completely secure. You also have access to a walking trail along a creek, so if you like nature…this is the property for you! Also, the host is a wonderful artist, and there is gorgeous artwork everywhere in the house! We would definitely love to stay here again!

Extraordinarily dog-friendly! We have two large Labradors and they were very well accommodated - with a dog run and plenty of room. The location of the Vrbo is great; easy walking distance to downtown Fruita. Comfortable furniture, spacious bathroom & shower, and fast internet. A+ stay.

Great doggy property
We have two big, gentle dogs. We decided on this property because it had a private dog park where our dogs could chill and become comfortable while we unpacked and organized. It certainly did that. Great outdoor lighting for us and them, and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. A good trail to exercise too. Our host is an artist, and her pottery is a nice added touch. Will use again.

Beautiful property
Beautiful property to enjoy! Very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Great place for our dog, she enjoyed the water flowing in the small irrigation ditch. The fenced dog area is a good size. I bought some of the owner's pottery that was available, I would definitely stay here again.

Desert's Edge
As soon as we parked and got out, there was a deer in the backyard & Karen was there to greet us. After entering the guest house, I was in awe of the cleanliness and quality. The trail around the house was grand!! In the evening my sons built a fire in the fire pit. Karen's pottery is very well made & I would recommend a stay here to everyone! What a nice place to stay! Great place for pet owners!
Karen is amazing and this property is beautiful! The dog run is better than some places I’ve stayed that claim to have a dog park. The property is amazing and we loved drink our coffee and taking a morning walk along the river. The house is beautiful and the finishes are luxury and feels like a high end retreat. I can’t express how comfortable the bed was, I slept so great! We will absolutely be staying here again.
