The Spot - Water Views - Near Acadia/Schoodic Peninsula

We are located close to Acadia Schoodic Peninsula, or a 45 minute drive to MDI.

Upon entering, you will find a spacious area to relax and unwind in comfort. You will have a queen size bed and a comfy couch that is also available for sleeping. The listing may read as a 2 bedroom. It is not.It is a studio style apartment with 2 beds. While we hope your vacation is seemless and spent outside exploring as much as possible, there is a SmartTV with wifi and you will have access to login into your accounts. We currently have Paramount TV available. The TV is moveable. The Spot also comes with a small kitchenette with coffee maker, microwave, air fryer, toaster, mini fridge and freezer. The Spot also has a full size bathroom with a marble double vanity, stand up glass shower enclosure, rain shower and bench seat available. You will also have a full size patio through the glass slider to access the outdoor living areas and furniture seasonally. Waterfront access to Taunton Bay where you'll likely encounter many species of birds including Bald Eagles, geese, osprey, abundant wildlife! Tidal waters flow over clam mudflats. The shared yard is nearly 4 acres and on our property we have seen bears, deer, turkeys, fox, coyotes and all sorts of other critters. We also have a small fresh water creek that runs the entire length of the property and acts as a natural boundry to the neighbor on the left. I can show you the proprty lines to the right. Kayaking and canoeing off the waters edge is available with your own gear. With over 3,000 lakes and miles and miles of Maine coastline to explore, there is sure to be something for everyone. Bring your binoculars and your canoe to truly experience the joy and wonders Maine has to offer.

We also live on the property to the right of the driveway. The Spot is an apartment/casita separate from the main house. Your parking spot is right in front of your door. While we are home often, you are free to interact or not as much as you are comfortable. My job is to maintain the property and help you! You may see us tending to the garden or mowing the lawn or just hanging out by the firepit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have or assist you with having a more comfortable stay. Just ask!

55 Country Stay
The host, Carla and Joey were great, very knowledgeable of the area and very nice. Their VRBO is located on a very private setting which made for very relaxing evenings. The unit is relatively brand new, kitchen, bathroom and living area were great! Bathroom and shower were very nice and modern. Would give this stay a 5 out 5 rating.

A gem of a property with amazing hosts
My husband and I traveled to Franklin for a wedding and made a long weekend out of it. This adorable place served as the most perfect spot to enjoy the scenery, relax and recharge. It’s only about 40 min from Bar Harbor, my husband and I ventured there twice over our 4 day stay. The hosts were attentive and friendly and had thought of absolutely everything. The Spot was spotless and beautiful, we can’t wait to visit again!

Perfect Home Base
Chose The Spot as our home base while exploring the area, Acadia and beyond. Stayed 4 nights and after each busy tourist day it was a blessing to return to some peace and quiet. The Spot is better than the pictures depict. The view is amazing, the shower is amazing, soft towels, and all the supplies you could ever ask for.

The Spot is perfect!
Every part of out stay at The Spot was great! Carla was great at communicating with us pre-check in through checking out. It is in a quiet location with a nice view of the water and we even saw some eagles. The inside of the property was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything you might on a trip away from home. I only wish we had more time to spend here!

Spectacular, conveniently located waterfront stay!
Extremely clean and cozy. Conveniently only ~30-40mins away from Acadia and Bar Harbor with close access to Walmart if needed. Very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful hosts who know the area well. Waterfront views are perfect for a morning coffee or staying awhile just to relax. Really helped enhance the whole Maine experience!

Lovely stay
We arrived late at night and we’re pleasantly surprised by the view we woke up to. The Spot had just about everything we needed, coffee pot, air fryer, toaster, mini fridge, dishes and cups, sugar and coffee! The list can go on and on. It was a nice space, we didn’t realize The Spot was an extension of the family’s new garage and really quite close to their house. We didn’t mind being that close, but wasn’t expecting it based on pictures. Very affordable and very clean. The building seemed pretty much brand new.

Bar Harbor Getaway
The Spot was fantastic. Karla thought of everything that we may have forgotten to bring ourselves. Everything was very well thought out. Very friendly hosts as we had a nice friendly chat upon arrival. Very quiet area and secluded which was perfect for us. You literally stare into the bay from your bedroom view which is beautiful. We would absolutely stay here again if we come back. Thanks Karla!

We appreciated a clean and easy place to stay as we made our way closer to the Bar Harbor airport. The Spot was very clean and attractively decorated. The view was nice and seeing the sunrise out the shower window was a nice part of the early morning we had. Great place to relax and to explore nearby Acadia
Wonderful and peaceful location. Appreciated that coffee and creamer, water bottles, granola bars and microwave popcorn were provided. We explored the park during the day and then were able to relax on the patio in the evening. The studio is quiet spacious as is the bathroom. They have put a lot of thought and care into the place. They also provided waterproof maps that you can take on your hike which was helpful. Looking forward to rebooking again next year.

The accommodations are just great- clean, beautifully decorated is sea glass colors and includes all amenities one could ever ask for- including extra toiletries. The view from the patio is really pretty and the neighborhood is quiet. The accuracy of the online listing does not do this justice. Great place with easy access to Acadia and other places.

Peaceful morning fog enveloping the sea
The stay truly exceeded all of our expectations and left us with cherished memories. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the campfire experience. Gathering around the crackling fire under the night sky, surrounded by the comforting sounds of nature, was a truly special moment. Another remarkable aspect of our stay was waking up to the peaceful morning fog enveloping the sea. There's something incredibly serene and breathtaking about the tranquility that the fog brings. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have created memories and look forward to returning in the future.

Adorable Spot!
My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at The Spot over the 4th of July weekend. We were so impressed not only with the location, cleanliness, aesthetic and views from the front porch but the hospitality was unbeatable. Carla and Jason were so responsive on Vrbo and had gone the extra mile to make The Spot feel cozy and welcoming, such as having fresh coffee creamer in the fridge and some tea and oatmeal available. If we head to Maine again we will definitely be staying here. 10 out of 10!

Amazing SPOT
We went to Bar Harbor to meet friends who were on vacation. We didn't want to stay at a box top chain hotel. The Spot was perfect for what we looking for. Fresh clean easy to find. Carla was such a great host checking in to see if we needed any thing. Would definitely recommend staying at The Spot.
