Surrounded by an acre of manicured gardens as well as a fruit and nut orchard and direct Huon River frontage, this one-bedroom holiday house is the ideal spot for exploring all that the Huon Valley has to offer.
The property is within close proximity by car of the historic Franklin village, Wooden Boat Centre, wineries, cider houses, fabulous restaurants, and nearby settlements of Geeveston, Dover, Southport, Hartz Mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk with Cockle Creek also well worth a visit during your stay being literally the "end of the road" ie. as far south as you can possibly drive in Australia.
The property has one bedroom available with luxurious king-size bed, mattress protector, electric blanket, and amazing quality linen and pillows, as well as fluffy towels.
The property has a bathroom with shower, bath and wash basin. The toilet is located in a separate room. Note: neither are sufficiently large to accommodate a wheelchair, so our property may not be wheelchair friendly.
There is a separate laundry within the home with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board, should you need to do any washing of clothes. Washing powder is supplied. There is also an outside clothesline.
The home features open plan lounge, dining room and new kitchen with wood heater, split system air-conditioner and heat pump and digital free-to-air television with wireless broadband internet.
The kitchen is well-appointed with electric oven and cook-top, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery, utensils and glassware as well as pots and pans for up to two adult guests.
Comfortably and tastefully furnished, the home looks out onto the Huon River with Sleeping Beauty and Mount Wellington in the distance.
The property is offered on a self-catering basis with nearby towns of Huonville and Geeveston good places to shop to stock-up on food and drink for the duration of your stay.
A small selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, and usual pantry and cooking condiments (sugar, salt, pepper, cooking oil - local Tasmanian products wherever possible) are available at the property as well as breakfast provisions for the first morning of your stay.
Should you need herbs for cooking during your stay, please enjoy those from our kitchen garden. We also have a lemon, lime, quince, apple and pear tree as well as several hazelnuts within the one-acre garden immediately around the home.
Salon-quality shampoo and conditioner as well as soap, lotion, bubbles, bath fizz, sunscreen are all provided in the bathroom.
Well-behaved, house-trained, dogs considered upon request (extra nightly fee applies and current vet vaccination certificate, and security bond to cover any damage or extra cleaning may be required).
