For a hotel rated four stars, several aspects of the stay were disappointing. Most rooms do not have fridges, despite there being a clear allocated space for one. This gives the impression that the hotel has either cut corners or overlooked a basic guest need.
The spare pillows stored in the cupboard were also concerning, as they had a noticeable odour of sweat. Not everyone is comfortable with soft pillows, and the firmer alternatives provided were not clean.
When I enquired about the on-site EV charger, staff were unable to confirm the cost per kWh. It is surprising that a facility would advertise such a service without knowing this basic information. After checking myself, I discovered it costs 79p/kWh for what is only a slow charger, which is unreasonable and ridiculous for a slow charger.
Additionally, the in-room television did not provide HD output, which is a small but noticeable shortcoming for a modern hotel.
Overall, despite being in a beautiful scenic location, I would personally not be staying here again. For a price of around £100 per night, more is expected.
P.S. Don’t look under the bed, especially if you have asthma, it’s not hoovered so full of dust.
