"Bit of a bumpy start. Check in 45 minutes later after being given our key to a family room that had not been cleaned at all. And the other 2 rooms not ready either. "Lovely stay at Ramside. First time we have been here and we will be back. Staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. Room was nice, only issue was that it smelt a bit damp when we walked in but opened patio doors and aired it and was ok afterwards. Lovely clean rooms. Beds not the most comfortable. Pillows were lumpy and a double/king size bed would be better than 2 beds put together, kept falling down the middle. Next time may look to upgrade to a premier room. "Enjoyed our stay my only criticism would be we were not in the main hotel and had a view of the car park. We had to cross over the carpark for breakfast so if it was raining could really spoil your breakfast vibe. The room also had very poor lighting so was very hard to read at night and in the day. "

"This was a fine hotel to stay in for a couple days, and the people working there were friendly and helpful. Shared bathroom was clean enough for the most part, as was the little kitchen used. Towels, coffee, tea, and TV were in the room, which was nice, and the bed was comfortable. It's not a fancy hotel, but works for solo traveller looking for inexpensive accommodation. 20 min walk to city centre and buses run right by the hotel. "

"Looked for a cheap overnight hotel in Middlesbrough, and found Longlands. Rooms were simple, shared toilets and showers as advertised, but clean and tidy. There was a problem with the boiler, affecting the central heating, but the receptionist provided a portable electric heater when it couldn't be sorted. Showers were electric so worked, and were nicely fitted out. I added the breakfast, which was really good value. "
