Conveniently located in the picturesque Fairhope, Alabama, this cottage offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The secluded location, just off the scenic Highway 98, provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere while still being close to restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and the famous Grand Hotel in historic Point Clear.

The cottage is only a short 7-mile drive or a quick walk to the beautiful white sandy beaches of Mobile Bay. A picnic area and fishing pier are also available for your enjoyment. The screened-in front porch and back deck are perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or an evening cocktail while taking in the serene surroundings.

Step inside and be greeted by vaulted ceilings and a cozy fireplace in the open living area. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to whip up a delicious meal, and the kitchen area even has a small den with beautiful views of the wooded area. A laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer is also available for your convenience.

Please be aware that this is a non-smoking cottage, both inside and outside on the porches or balconies. All access is by stairways, so don't forget to pack your walking shoes!

We know your furry friend is an important part of the family, so we are happy to welcome dogs weighing up to 35 pounds with a pet fee. Entry codes will be texted to you on the day of your arrival, and we kindly ask that all guests be 25 years or older to book this unit.

Quiet and private in Point Clear
I love staying at this home. Please note that there is no screen door on the porch as is pictured here, and the dishwasher has been inoperative the past two times we have stayed here. I have pointed this out to the property manager, so hopefully they will address these issues.

The home is nice. Bring your own pillow, your shampoo, and some mosquito spray. You will need laundry detergent and condiments because they don't leave anything in there. Hopefully they will replace the shower head like I recommended.

Master Room
We checked in at 4pm. I noticed the master bedroom sheet had what looked like blood stains all over it. I called and let the property manager know and they said they would send new ones the next day. That is completely ridiculous not to take care of that immediately. I also noticed there was no blanket for the master bed and two of the 4 pillows had no pillow case. I would never let this company list another property if I were in charge. When they finally brought all the things missing or stained, they just threw the bag with all of these items in them on the porch and left.

We loved our stay at the cottage. Comfortable open living room-kitchen combo allowed us lots of time to reminisce about life, love and adulting since our college days. Accessible to everything in Fairhope but conducive to time spent just being together!

Adequate but not great.
The location was convenient to most things we wanted to do. The beds were comfortable. The furniture could use a good cleaning. More pieces of flatware really are needed so you don’t have to wash every time a spoon is needed. The can opener didn’t seem to work properly so that needs to be replaced. And I would recommend new towel bars in the bathrooms. The ones there are not attached to the wall firmly and they come apart.

Very nice but needs updating
We have family in the area, and rented this house when visiting over the Christmas holiday. Overall, a very nice property in a nice area. The house was clean and well furnished. The layout was great and perfectly suited our needs. We felt very comfortable during our stay, But. the kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures are in desperate need of update and there are many minor repairs needed throughout the house. None of this prevented us from enjoying our stay and we would consider staying here again.

Swamp nearby
The biggest complaint we had about this place was the swamp near and open drainage ditch around the property. It attracted mosquitos and just felt “wet” everywhere. We weren’t there when it was raining and the water stayed that way the whole time. We also didn’t like having the rug in the family room due to it being a pet friendly place so rolled it up amd noticed it was dirty underneath.

Poor Housekeeping, Charming Home
Previous reviews mentioned cobwebs and broken light bulbs on the ground, the broken swing and burned out bulbs inside. This was still the case. The house itself is very cute and nice. The kitchen and bathrooms fixtures were fairly clean and the furniture was dusted however the cobwebs have been there a while, some with spiders, behind doors and in corners and hanging from the ceilings. I purchased a duster at Dollar Tree and took care of them myself while I was there. They were not spider webs that were built overnight. I live in the country myself and get those as well so I know how to identify those. They've been there a while. We didn't use the upstairs except to take a blanket from a bed, and occasionally use the toilet, as it was only three of us. The carpets upstairs were terribly dirty and not just with stains but with actual debris - thread, lint, crumbs etc. I would have vacuumed them myself but I could not find a vacuum. The hard floor vacuum in the closet downstairs did not do very well even on the hard floors so I did not attempt it on the carpet. The toilet seat in the downstairs bathroom is wood and it's paint is chipped away and pitted inside the ring. That is unsanitary and should be replaced as toilet seats are not that expensive. I dusted all of the baseboards and doors but they need a good scrubbing. I had to draw the line there, as I AM on vacation LOL. The back porch was covered in pine needles and tree debris which I also swept and cleaned up. The house itself is really pretty with a great floor plan, in a nice wooded area off the beaten path but still close enough to things you'd need. The door around the handle on the microwave is cracked in several places and appears to have been for a while. The blinds in the bedrooms were grimey. For the price the house should have been much cleaner. Still, it's a really lovely place. I just feel that the owner is getting ripped off by the cleaning people. With a good deep cleaning and a little attention to maintenance this could be a fabulous vacation rental. I was happy to do a little cleaning for the sweet little house while I was there and leave it better than I found it 🙂. Check in/out was easy and we had no problems with maintenance issues or door locks or anything like that. Our party was myself, my husband, our 12-year-old son and our two toy dogs.

Great place
We enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean and very roomy. We brought our boat and had plenty of room to park. The house is close to the Grand; to various shops and to several boat launches. We will return!
