Walk into Rocky Mountain National Park from my cozy, contemporary duplex influenced by my Norwegian roots (STR Permit 20-NCD0080). A full kitchen, queen bed, private bath, and nice deck will ensure a great getaway. My duplex basically abuts the park, so wildlife abound!
+ Walk to RMNP & The Rock Inn Tavern
+ 2 min drive to the Park visitor center
+ 5 min drive to town
A small 425 s/f space big on amenities, and a great basecamp to explore the National Park.
**** PLEASE NOTE ****
+ Both sides of my duplex are short term rentals, and it's in a neighborhood WITH NEIGHBORS & quiet hours from 9pm to 8am. Please be respectful! If you seek isolation you'll need to search 20 miles away.
+ I've had a few 4 star reviews about the driveway, which is bad for guest satisfaction & business! To get out, you just back down it and then turn around at the bottom and drive away. See the photo & caption with details in the picture stack. 4WD/AWD mandatory Oct-May.
+ 4pm or later checkin; 10am or earlier checkout. We can't do early check ins or late checkouts as they are not insured by AirBnB.
+ No smoking, fire pits or parties
+ 4 guests max
+ Cleaning is expensive and I want guests to pay as little as possible. The cleaners offered a deal to keep the rates in the lowest third of homes this size, and I pass the savings on to you! I ask guests to pay it forward by washing the dishes and starting a load of towels in the washer. It takes five minutes but saves the cleaners an hour, which saves you money!
***** THANKS FOR READING *****
Thanks for checking out the south apartment in my newly remodeled duplex, just footsteps from Rocky Mountain National Park's boundary. You will love its cleanliness and modern, cozy vibe inspired by my Norwegian roots. It's well appointed with new flooring, new paint, new living room sofa, new bed, and more, and the brand new fully equipped kitchen will allow you to feel at home during your Estes Park vacation.
People who have stayed here before have raved:
"We loved the privacy and beautiful night skies. Saw tons of elk at the house."
"Very close to downtown and restaurants but also secluded."
"Absolutely lovely and clean residence!"
"Perfect spot for exploring the park. The home was lovely and made great use of space!"
My favorite feature is the great views off the front porch. It's surrounded by mountains and you can walk into the National Park.
BEDROOMS
My home offers 1 bedroom, plus sleeping for two more on a living room sofa bed.
Bedroom 1 - A comfortable memory-foam mattress will ensure a good night sleep after a long day of hiking. Attached is a closet for your gear. There are cool bohemian curtains on bedroom door and on one window, while the eastern windows feature blackout shades to ensure a sound night's rest. If you like to wake up with the sunrise, you can leave them up and watch the room light up in the mornings.
Bedroom 2 - Not really a bedroom, but the living couch turns into a full size bed that can comfortable accommodate two. A spare set of sheets and blankets is in the chaise part of the couch, which flips up.
LIVING & ENTERTAINMENT
Living Room - There's a spacious dining room table and a comfy couch to lounge in while you stream your favorite Netflix series on the speedy WiFi.
WiFi - My home employs a mesh WiFi network with no dead zones. A strong 100Mbps connection will allow you to stream and work without any issues.
LAUNDRY & COOKING
Kitchen - The kitchen has everything you need to cook: a full stove and oven, fridge and freezer, and assortment of pots and pans. There are knives, cutting boards, wine glasses, coffee mugs, and a french press so you can get your caffeine fix before you enjoy the park.
Laundry - My tiny space features a full size washer and dryer that you are free to use.
This is a fully furnished, private apartment with total access for you. That includes...
+ 1 bedroom
+ 1 full bathroom
+ 2 private parking spaces
+ private deck
I live in Estes Park and know the town and the National Park like the back of my hand. I moved here in 2010 and am a photographer specializing in weddings and family portraits. I have spent the years since climbing, hiking, skiing, cycling and adventuring in and around Rocky Mountain National Park and am happy to offer advice on the best hikes, drinks, dining and adventures in the area. I'm just a quick text or email away! Otherwise please be in touch with my co-host and house manager Nancy who will also be helping a lot during your stay!
The Valhalla neighborhood is a small collection of about 30 small historic homes and vacation cabins. There are other buildings nearby so if you are looking for total isolation, another home may be better for you.
That said, the location is awesome. You can hike out your door and catch a trail into the National Park a few blocks away.
My home is on the west side of Estes Park, so you don't have to brave downtown traffic to get into the National Park. Driving into the center of town is a short 7 minute journey, and the closest grocery store is 5 minutes away.
During the summer, there's a free shuttle bus that goes all over Estes Park and into the National Park. It stops about two blocks away.
NOISE
Events, loud music and noises, and parties are prohibited. Please be respectful of your noise level. This is a duplex with a shared wall and both sides are vacation rentals. There are also neighbors in the neighborhood.
NONPAYING GUESTS
My insurance requires that nonpaying and non-registered guests are not allowed on property.
ADDITIONAL GUEST FEE
There is an additional charge per person for your stay after the first two guests. The booking platform will automatically calculate the total when you input your dates and guest count.
AIR CONDITIONER
Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C, but the cool mountain air will quickly cool the home down in the evenings when you open the windows.
BY BOOKING YOU UNDERSTAND:
+ This is a duplex in a neighborhood WITH NEIGHBORS. Please respect that!
+ Quiet hours 9pm-8am
+ Please don't block the driveway -- it's a duplex and you have two spots directly below your deck.
