"I’ve stayed at this location before and you can’t beat the location. It’s just the sound of the waves and it’s right outside your door. The maintenance of the landscaping could be better. I know that there has been more rain than usual but this shouldn’t be an excuse. The parking area was also overgrown and could use better security lighting. "If the photos of the place look good to you then you will love this place. If you own a pair of Birkenstocks and enjoy seeing hummingbirds you will have a great visit. Had a great time at the Inn and went snorkeling right at the bottom of the driveway. We had a room with no AC and just listened to the wildlife all night. Wonderful!"

You’ll need a rental car to get around - a 15 minute drive to the boardwalk for some nice restaurants/bars. Plenty to do on the island and we could have used a few more days! "We spent 8 days on island and this was the perfect home base for the week. It's not fancy, but it has updated amenities, it's clean, comfortable, has everything you need, (including beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels) minutes from Christiansted-but away from the crowds. When we had questions we just texted the owner and she responded within minutes. Definitely recommend if you're on a mid-range budget. It's worth every penny..."

"We extended our stay by 2 nights and needed a place to stay. The Mermaid worked out fine for us (could use a new mattress) and the view was amazing! The owner was great and very easy to work with and replied to us right away. We did not enjoy the ride to get up there, but we were warned about it in the description. You do need an SUV to travel up there. Thanks for the stay!"
