"We stayed 1 night. Our studio--sitting room, large bathroom, and bedroom--was very spacious with many amenities: coffee/water/materials for eating in. Well appointed--comfortable mattress, beautiful bedding, great bathroom--comfortable couch and small table for eating. Excellent value. More than 1 venue for food--different styles. We only sampled breakfast--the granola parfait was perfect. "

"Lovely quiet village, ideal location for walkers and dogs, no shops in Portinscale only 1 pub and a cafe. We stayed in apartment- and ate at pub in Portinscale only a 15 minute walk into Keswick lovely walk. Apartment clean , everything you need . The building is Victorian, plenty of room in apartment set in lovely grounds. It is dated, and the hall entrance could do with repainting and new carpets to make it more inviting for guests. "Owners of Cottage provided a phone number to call one week before our arrival. Numerous attempts each day and "no one" answered the phone. And there wasn't any way to leave a message. On our way to the unit, we had an emergency, one member, in the emergency room for 3 hours. I tried getting hold of the unit, no response so I called VRBO. We had to cancelled because I could not speak with the owner about our situation and their accommodations. Request complete refund."

"A lovely 3 night stay on Bassenthwaite Lake. Lodge was well appointed and as described in the listing. Location is remote but only 10min drive to Keswick and exactly what we wanted. Recommend The Sun Inn in Bassenthwaite for dinner and even managed a quick paddle board on (thankfully not in) an empty Lake, which was bliss. Will definitely consider staying here again."

"We were looking for a quiet and relaxing couple of days and the Shepherds hut gave us just that. It was small and very cozy. It was warm on arrival which was very welcoming. If i were to give some feedback i would say that a couple of side lamps would be helpful. Overall an excellent stay."

"What a beautiful location and lovely little cottage. We were worried about the size of the bunk beds as we didn't realise they were not full size but my daughter and friend (5'11" and 5'9" found them very comfortable). The track up to the house was more of a problem. Glad our car has lots of clearance - a small car would not have managed those pot holes!"

"Can’t fault this hotel it has everything. Lovely rooms, place to relax in the swimming/sauna area. The restaurant was so nice with amazing food and lovely staff. The lounge is a cosy place to chill and have a drink in front of the fire places. Overall a lovely hotel that’s not far from anything, is affordable and offers so much. "Just a one night stop over in the city. Hotel next to railway station so a good location. Generally very clean but parts of room whilst clean were a little tired. Ie bathroom could do with an upgrade, windows could be improved. My friends had breakfast and thought it was excellent but I don’t eat breakfast. I would certainly return if in the area."
